advice appreciated

Hello, changed fuel filter on the 85 blazer s10 , with an original rochester 2 barrel carb.
I have the carb inlet nut tight, but the fuel line fitting is leaking. Tried putting thread tape on it, but the angle is impossible to get the tape on snug. Any advice? Maybe use a different product, maybe locktite? Open to any ideas and suggestions, thanx

Yeah, if it is leaking it either isn't tight, or it's crossthreaded, or it's fractured. Go find you another one at the junkyard (or buy a new line and bend it). Cut it off somewhere outside the head area. Make sure to smooth the rough edges with a bastard file. Cut the original line with enough missing to splice in a 4 to 6 inch piece of rubber fuel line. Smooth that cut end too. Before joining, go ahead and connect it to the carb. You'll find it's really easy to start when you can move it around. That fitting is a PITA with the hard inflexible line. After you get it connected, just connect the two metal lines with the rubber hose. Low pressure, so one clamp on each side should work.

This made a lot of difference when I had the carb.
