Hay all so I’m getting a for barrel intake for my little 2.8 and had a couple questions. First is what cfm carb should I run? 390? And my other question is the fuel pump. It’s mechanical right now should I remove that and go electric? And if so witch one? Thanks I’m advance!

Re: 2.8 4 barrel swap

You might look into a Weber swap....much better than a Holley/Rochester swap.

Keep the Weber and change the upper intake. http://edelbrocksupercharger.com/i-1...ifold-top.html

Re: 2.8 4 barrel swap

I'd give you $125...
If you have a good Holley 390 CFM, give it a try.
You can always buy the 2 barrel top and run the Weber later.
It also helps to have a decent exhaust system.

Post your reaction to the Holley/Eddy set up.
If you have a 38/38 Weber, there isn't going to be a huge difference in performance.

Re: 2.8 4 barrel swap

I'd really like to hear the difference in performance too. I used to have the Holley/Eddy setup myself. Compared to the factory carb and intake it blew me away. Unbelievable the difference. I never ran the Weber, so I'm not sure how that would have run out on the truck. Max has done every conceivable version I think.

My truck currently has a 3.4 in it and I converted it to EFI. It uses a stock intake bored out with a 4.3 TBI unit on top of it. It runs out really good. Good enough to pull 235/75s still with plenty of available power. It's actually a 2wd truck with a small lift on it. 3.42 rears.
