Cast iron exhaust manifold

Bit the bullet and ordered this yesterday. Itíll be here Tuesday. Iím hoping itíll take care of my exhaust leaks. At 65000 miles, my oem manifold gave it up. I bought a tube type replacement that wonít stay sealed. Itíll go a few weeks then start leaking at the gasket again. Iím hoping this does the trick once and for all.

Installed, and no leaks. Those cheap soft steel tubing manifolds canít do that!

Re: Cast iron exhaust manifold

I bought one of those. The outlet was just under 1 3/4" - hardly enough to allow exhaust out.
I sold it right away.

Mine is fine! It doesnít have the pipe sticking out like the stock one, but the donut gasket works fine, and no leaking. The outlet diameter is actually slightly bigger than the small diameter outlet pipe of the oem style manifold. So the restriction is the donut gasket, which normally fits over the outlet pipe of the stock manifold. Mine should actually flow a little better. The last one I bought, oem style, cracked after 7 months. It always leaked though, even with trying two gaskets, metal and layered gaskets, Tick tick tick. No more. Iím happy with this, it is fantastic compared to the other junk that is out there. Had it been a little narrower output, Iíd have just dressed it with a die grinder anyway.

Re: Cast iron exhaust manifold

There are a few different brands out there - that I have seen - I must have pruchased on of the crappier ones.
Great to hear that it solved your problem.
