I would have went with the dealer also, but the guy closest was being a douche over the phone, and the next closest(1hr away) never returned e-mail or phone call, so that is why I went with parts direct. E-fans are scheduled for delivery today, so might do it this weekend...

I just ordered the Tensioner from (The Dealer) Malouf Chevrolet for $26.80
They said it would be here tomorrow. wow.

I'm going to call RockAuto.com and get the "Sealed Power" timing chain kit. Sealed Power is a Federal-Moogal subsidery.

I'm not going to mess with GMpartsdirect.com... too many delays and too many bad reviews about policy, no customer service phone number etc....
Now that I can get the tensioner at Dealer for less than GMpartsdirect.com prices, there is nothing else I need.

I got new Chromemoly piston rings from NAPA. I'm done...

Also, the tensioner is marked with an (*) as a non-returnable special order part. If you buy it online--the only way you can

That's cool that your Dad is a plank owner, I'm an airdale at Pax River NAS. As for the parts, I received the chain, tensioner, cam and crank sprokets, and a bag of 10 oil orafice's. I ordered everything through GMParts direct. I am waiting on my e-fan to come in from FF Dynamics so I can do it all at once since it will all be apart anyway...Probably next weekend, hopefully it wont be so blasted hot.

OH, I just read you message: "the cloyes is the one that is shit after 10K"
Cool, thanks brother, I'll get that in a box back to Partstrain.com in the next couple of days.

    P.s.: don't buy anything from partstrain.com

What parts did you get and where did you get them.

We need to compare the parts we have with the parts that the other guys bought.

It took +3 weeks...But that was also over the 4th of July weekend. From the time that I ordered it to the day it was shipped was around a week, which I thought was unacceptable...The tensioner was A/C Delco OEM, not Cloytes. Cloytes is the one that is known to shit after 8-10K.

how long did it take to get your parts from GMdirect.com (timing chain parts)
Also, did you get a Cloyes tensioner that is supposed to be GM (OEM) or did you get the A/C Delco tensioner????
