Just wondering.

I saw a blue one (the lighter of the two availabel blues, and the color she wants), drivng home yesterday from work. It was lowered a little, and had a Cat back on it that wasn't too obnoxiouos. Looked good for what it was.
Ya, we picked up a TC for her to drive about a month ago. Working good so far. It's got the 5 speed and averages about 29 mpg on the freeway. Not the best but what can you do. The interior is a little road noisy but not too bad. The sun/moon roofs are cool and the way the back seat folds completely down is nice too (For the dog at least). Good little car that will last awhile.

If I'm in town, I'll try to swing down. Somebody shoot me a reminder though! LOL!

Hey Thanks Pat, I just went online and built "MY Version" of a TC, it was $22 and change without the Blower that only brings it up to 200hp. I didn't even get alot of gay little doodads. I only got the cargo mat, and the best stereo options, the LED taillights, the stainless doorsills, and ALL the perfromance otions along with the 18's. (the Wheels and tires killed it. $1560.00!) . Hell, I didn't even get ehe Alarm or the Pedals! But it looked cool for what it was. My girl wants what is the Series 2.0 I'm guessing.

Glad to hear that the car is working out and it's a good buy. I was really impressed with the glass roof untill I stuck my head inside and saw how much of it was covered. But I only stuck my head in for a second, I didn't actually work it. How big of a dog? I liked how the rear seat folded down on the website, and they had the mat that covered the seats. I really like the Leather on the 2.0 series.

Right on Ryan!

Pat, I forgot to ask you............When you said the interior was noise-y, is it from the tires, or is it like a wind/road noise thing? does the stereo have any trouble compensating for it?

Kate is interested in the envoy bumper trade we talked about still she just has to wait for her tires to come in from Japan for her new rims. How much for the Al's header with downpipe?

The interior is nosiy like road noise. Almost like there is little to no jute padding under the carpet. Obviously it could be taken care of if you spent $100 and a day taking out the interior and installing Dynamat or something similiar. The stereo overcomes the road noise no problem. You should take one out on a test drive and see for yourself.

I have the Al's header on my truck and it does make a difference. Not a whole hell of a lot but it is noticeable. Espically around 3k rpms or so. Do you have a pic of the "custom" downpipe? I'd like to see what way it was built.

My buddy used to work for Manhatten Beach Toyota and said the biggest problem with the TC's is the POS sunroof and the door gaskets. They have recalls on the sunroof.

Actually, I thought it was going to be rough when I did mine. If you pop your hood and look how tucked away the manifold is, it's in there real good. However, after you remove the items from the area around it, you will be real suprised how much room there actually is. Mine honeslty only took 2 - 3 hours from start to finish (And I also had my engine driven compressor in the way too). Couple things to note... first, browse through the Group Purchase on this header and on Page 16 (If I remember correclty) will be a downloadable spreadsheet with all of the tools you will need as well as new gasket part numbers, etc. I went ahead and bought a new "donut" gasket for the header to downpipe as well as a new header to block gasket. These with the tools outlined in the spreadsheet is all it took. Follow the directions step by step and it's a no brainer. Best mod as far as simplicity, power and cost.

thanks man for explaining that for me. The downpipe is welded to the header so no need for a new gasket there. let me know if you are interested. If its for you I will give it to you for cheaper, I really dont want to ship it.
