I had heard it was the lowest part of the body couldn't be below the lowest part of the rim lip, but who knows. If thats' the case it's okay to drag frame! LOL!

Maybe I misunderstood......?

Both:

Lowered frame (or any other part) that is lower than the lowest point of the wheel rim (24008 VC).

its just the California Vehicle code, you can buy it for like $6 at the DMV.........

Ca laws have a maximum frame height law, and as far as road clearance the lowest part of your frame can't be lower than your rims. So as long as your rolling around on some low pro's you can pretty much legally roll around 2" off the ground.

Headlights can't be lower than 22 inches.

Taillights cant be lower than 15 inches.

Besides those problems I really doubt any other tickets we get would hold up in court.

Any one else have any tickets with the codes they've gotten? I like knowing the law.
you dont have to worry about this chris, they will just impound your truck for
C.V.C. 22651 (h)(1) because they will take u into custody for welfare and institutions code 5150..........

This section shall not apply to any passenger vehicle that is required to be equipped with an energy absorption system pursuant to either state or federal law, or to any passenger vehicle which was not equipped with a front or rear bumper, or both, at the time that it was first sold and registered under the laws of this or any other state or foreign jurisdiction.

A rollpan can fall under that description.

Plus a rollpan makes the truck look "complete", it won't look like a "bumper is missing". I've had my rollpan for years and been pulled a few times, they never questioned it. Even during a "illegal mod" sting with those anal bicycle cops, they never questioned the rollpan.
there is also some gray area on this because truck are considered "commercial Vehicle" and technically since the bed of the truck is not part of the passenger compartment u do not need one but i have heard this one go either way.......... i kinda wish i had a bumper instead of a roll pan when i got rear ended

lol reminds me on my leaking fuel injector with was dripping on the down pipe knew i had a gas leak could not find it one day i went on a little longer drive than my normal 1.5 miles to work and parked heard hissing looked under my truck yep game dripping on the down pipe was about to shit my self. so i just walked in side my place and didn't look out side for awhile and thought it it burns it burns no stopping it now but i don't wanna watch it burn so as long as i don't hear any fire tucks i am fine.

sorry just brought back the thoughts of that scary day

Re: So Cal General Discussion

I have changed one before but it was when I had the engine out of the truck......... Mine is leaking from the front but I told myself if that engine ever comes out, it's not going back in...... (350 swap)........ It would be a major pain in the butt to change in the truck, I was gonna drain my oil out and clean the location of the leak with like carb cleaner and go to town with RTV.......

Re: So Cal General Discussion

What's up party people? Hope all is well... I'm working on another job right now, and pretty excited about it.

Working on becoming a body guard. Most of you have seen me, and know that I'm not a very big, tall or loud person, but I have a family friend that is looking for someone my size to help out. Going to sign up for some classes soon to get the ball rolling... I'm super super excited to do this. Hopefully with this 4th job I'll be able to get a little bit more extra cash to put into the blazer and not on liquor...

This is gunna be a bitch especially since i dont have access to a lift anymore and im lowered and hav that xtreme front valence on. I'm thinking about buying some heat wrap and wrapping up my pipe where it burns the most and see if it helps until I can get my hands on a hoist.

boogie, your money's comin. sorry ive been slackin, i planned on having my Z sold by now but no luck on that, so i still have to make my monthly payment on it. hit me up on friday, hopefully my paypal went into my account by then.

Re: So Cal General Discussion

Did it come with a CARB E.O. Sticker? if not they may hassle You. I have an AirRaid intake from the MAF down and a K&N Snorkle from the Throttle body to the MAF. I only have the CARB sticker for the AirRaid intake and they stare at it, then the setup, then at me, and then smog it.

As long as all of the Sensors are plugged in you should be okay.....the sticker may be aproblem though.

that sux, i'll trade you lol.

the place i went to didn't even bother doing half the checks they are supposed to when i had mine smogged. I went to one of those California Smog stations, the guy popped the hook, stuck the shit on the truck and smogged it and took it outa the bay.
