Stuff to do in South FLA?

What's up, fellas (and ladies)! Thread title is pretty self-explanatory. Me and the misses are headed down to Ft Lauderdale (Well, really, Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, but whatev) for a week for the holiday, and I just wanted some input from the locals on anything good happening in the Miami-Ft Lauderdale area over the next week.

You know, Cool car/truck shows, fun tourist-y places, even just a good place to go watch fireworks on the 4th. We go down every couple of years, but we always piss away the free time just laying on the beach, so I wanted to actually get out and do some shit this time, even if it's just seeing the elephants at the Sunrise Flea market. Any help/comments/suggestions would be very appreciated. I'm bringing the laptop, so I'll check in on the thread and see if there's any life. Thanks again, all.

Ive lived down there for 26 yrs. Thats about what you can expect to do w/ gas prices(Sit on the beach). If you have some extra cash in hand head to Las Olas area. The misses will like it. And if your in to clubs or what have you theres a shit load of them around that area( Downtown is what we called it)
