Oakboro, NC Cruise-In's.....

well the Oakboro monthly cruise in, is getting back under way tommorow night (1/26)...and will be held the 4th friday of every month, me and a few others were thinking about heading up to it tommorow night...i've never been, and i'd love to go check it out, anyone ever been up to it? what did ya'll think of it?

no, last time I was up there, there were like 5-6 minis from the monroe area up there. but it ain't a helluva lot.

i shouldn't even comment on the shit....

we got into town last night...there was one early 50's panel wagon chevrolet on main street...and that was it...we stopped at the restaurant and was gonna eat, then we decided we might still have time to go to concord mills, but didn't know how the hell to get there, so i went into a gas station asking for directions, talked to some old guy who got me all crossed up, went back out to where everybody else was at, and we just decided to go back to the body shop and order pizza...

whats this oakboro cruise thing? i live in matthews area of charlotte and i been wantin to meet up with some minis or somethin to just chill and shoot the shit. you guys actually cruise around or is it like sit in a parking lot and look at other peoples rides. lol.

yeah it gets rowdy up there in the summer I here. In of the pictures on the website they have one of my friends in his older toyota mini with PINK flames doin his burnout.

me and some local hot rodders checked it out summer before last. it's an awesome hot rod event. hell, the whole town caters to the cruise-in. everybody parks and walks around. there are food vendors set up. and then near the end of the night, they have the local police help to run a burnout box on one of the back streets. i saw some really sweet pro-street cars. if y'all decide to roll out there, definitely let me know. but yeah, i would definitely wait til it gets warm

just don't go eat at that one restaurant in the middle of town...sat there damn near 2 hours one night...and out of the 6 of us that were eating...i think 2 orders were correct...2 orders were fked up, and the other 2 orders weren't even ever brought out and served....

Damn, I just found out about this. Dad and I take the 64 to one just like it in Pilot Mountain up near Mt. Airy (aka Mayberry) the first Saturday of every month. Yeah, I'm going to this Oakboro cruise-in for sure. Looks badass. Like I said, just like Pilot Mountain. They have one like it in Reidsville too. Anybody else thinking they might go to the May one?
