Hey this is Matt Hodgson from the Millersville University Show It Off, I know last years show had alot of kinks that we are trying to work out for this year, but I would like to hear some of your guys suggestions on how to make the 2004 show even better. We are already planning a Hi/Low contest, a DB competition, new judges, new shirt design etc etc. Now we can't do a College Cutie contest as much as I want to, but let me know what suggestions you guys have.....

Where in MD did you guys get your truck aligned, city and name of shop. My dilemma is below:

Ok so heres the deal. Months ago I lowered my truck 4-5 and right after, well a few days later, I went to get it aligned. He could align the drivers side but not the passengers side. Either side has bad chamber. The top of the tire leans into the truck. Don't know whether this is called negative chamber or not. He said he tried shims and just couldn't do it. So I took it to another place, they said no because they didn't wanna risk driving it up onto a rack. So I took it to Midas today and they said that alignment doesnt fix chamber it just fixes toe. Now I know when I was into imports they had a chamber kit you could buy. Is there something like this for s-10s? I'm getting sick of this shit. Nobody will or can align my truck and I know my tires are suffering. What do I do? Anyone in MD, where'd you get yours done? Please help.

i had the same problem with my truck being so low, noone could get it on a rack to do it, i finally asked sport cehvy in silver spring if they could and they said they can do it no problems, i had them do it it took about 2 hours with an appointment and cost either 49 or 59 i don t remeber this was when i got new tires at 27,000 miles i know have 48 k on the truck and the tires are perfect no uneven wear at all, the sevice rep i talked to down there is Joe duffy i don t have the number with me but they are really nice and will work on modified trucks just call them and tell them what you have done and they can tell u what they can do i hope this helps.

not all NTB's can do lowered trucks i went to the one in columbia and they said they couldn t not do my truck b/c is was too low and they couldn t get it on the rack, now any hsop should be able to run it up on boards to get it on a rack but if they refuse to do it i respect that and go somewhere else.

hell yea..why didnt i see this topic a long ass time ago..lol....i live in baltimore..but by x-mas i'll have an apartment in westminster

and since everyone in this thread if from marlynad i have question that ihope i can get a fast answer on...my truck has a 2/3 drop and flowmaster and a few others but thats the only mods that i have a question on..i was driving in westminster on rt140..back in sept....i got pulled over by a state tropper...told me my exahust system was illegal and i had to have it removed..also gave me a repair ticket for the exhaust,headlight aim,relfectors,and suspension since its lowered...now here the million dollar question

where the hell can i take this and get it signed off without getting the work done..maybe paying the guy off..lol..come on someone has got to know someone..and from what i've hear dform every shop..flowmaster is perfectly legal anyway..but the suspension is ginve me problems getting a sign off..the ticket was due like oct.26 but i still havent turned it in because i cant get it taken care of yet..come on if anyone has any help for me at all it would be great..thanks in advance

here is the law on your exhaust from the state police, your really not suppose to mess with it, but all you have to have is the same number of cat's and mufflers from the factory and it can exit anywhere on the truck as long as it doesn't exit under a passengar space, i.e. the cab on our trucks anywhere on under the bed is fine, i had the same problem and got the same repair orders for no reason what so ever, any inspection station in hte state can sign it off the only thing they can not sign off is for Tint, now ur headlight aim seems like a b.s. to me just angle them down when u get it signed off, reflectors ?? well if you have clear corners on or tail lights that aren t stock just throw the stock ones one to get signed off, are you just a 2/3 drop from a stock s-10 ? if so i would just say it s a ZQ8 syspension truck which comes from GM dropped 2/2, humm most of the repair orders are things that sound like u pissed the cop off or they where having a bad day. some inspection stations are dicks u can turn them into the state police if they try ot b.s. u about shit best thing to do is call the state police and ask them the law's they will be honest and tell you what you can and can not have.

well most places i went to will let me slide on the exhaust..except one guy who insists its like the most illegal thing in the world..lol..as for headlight aim..he said becuase i lowerred it...the headlights hit the groud sooner than they did at stock height...which means it lights up less rodaway,being less safe....thats b.s. and he was really reaching for that one..relflectors was my clear corners..like you siad easy fix..and its a 2/2 drop on an X..not a regualr S-10

this is what you do go to a mr tire or some place like that tell them you used a x susp. have them fix the lights and tell the you got to have the exhast check don't tell them why and give them the order the cop gave you it will not say its to loud on the order and see what they say and they should write it off
let us know what happens

oki'll try that..also..whats the law in maryland for vehical height?....is there a bumper height?..if so maybe i could be lucky and not be under it then if the exhaust actually isnt illegal i could take it to the state police and have the waive those two or something..i dont know..but i'll try doing like you said..thanks

the police will not wave anything trust me i ve tried they are dicks about repair orders, but if you at the height it came from the factory i.e. xtreme height they can t say anything to you how can they ? you legaly bought a truck in maryland or whereever if the truck wasn t legal then why did they send it, i don t think there are any laws on bumper height for lowered trucks, if you want the name of an honest inspection station to go to just PM me and i ll hook you up.

if you have a cool shop they will let you go with a 3 " drop mine is 5" and have not been pulled over in 10 years for the drop but speeding and seat belts and spinning tires are a other story

Well first off I need to get most of this semester done before I can take it into a shop. I have so many papers to write and tests to do it sucks. But I heard I could take it into the chevy dealership up in Silver Spring. I don't think the frame is bent or Carmax never would have sold it to me. Wasn't the passengers side the side that went real quick? I thought the first side we did, the drivers side, took forever but the passengers side went real quick. I didn't know you were moving to a house. Where is the house gonna be? And I want to get my truck fixed first because I wanted to drive down there and give you the tailgate and talk with you about getting the squirters shaved on my new hood.
