Re: maryland

im getting ready to cough up some serious money and put a roll pan on my truck with 2 12" LEDs and shave the taillights and possibly the third brake light. Anyone have any problems with cops in Maryland before with something like this?Aaron have you ever been hassled?anyone else?

Re: maryland

I always got harassed down here in calvert, main reason I stopped driving the truck. I never got a real ticket but I got alot of warnings, I also had LEDs. It may be different where you are though.

Damn. what would the cop say when you got pulled over? brake lights to dim? to low? no red reflector? what was his official reasoning?

Re: maryland

allright cool thanks for the info. i think im going to order it on monday...I am just going to try to check with my body guy how much he is going to charge to install the roll pan, make the leds perfectly flush, shave the tailllights and maybe even shave the 3rd brake light. Do I really need a 3rd brake light? or just say **** it? I could get a small led to put in the tailgate or something but i dont really wanna. Think a cop will notice that i dont have a 3rd brake light anymore?

ya...its just that im shaving the handle on the tailgate so while that work is being done it might make sense to do that now too. but I dont think i want a 3rd brake light anywhere. im going for clean and simple.

Re: maryland

yeah I personally am not a big fan of the 3rd brake lights in tailgates but to each there own. Just go with the 2 12" LED strips and tint em so you can't see em till you hit the lights(saw a guy selling a black s10 on mautofied like that and it was sick).

hmmm im not sure but u might be refering to the same truck i looke dat on ebay last night. it was black with exatly what u just said which is what i wanna do. The leds im doing will be installed flush with the roll pan....its not going to be like a frenched in thing...it will be flush. you mount the llense flush with the roll pan and you can paint over it. Im not going to do a 3rd brake light if i decided to shave the 3rd brake light.

Re: maryland

Not sure, it might have been cause ive seen the truck on mautofied 3 times now so I guess they decided to try ebay. Reg cab? like 94-97 style(I think it was a 95)? Sounds like its going to look pretty hot bro.

hmmmm actually no. it was a 98+ extended cab bagged with air over leaf out bag and coolride from ART upfront and it had a smooth bedfloor and was very cleanly done. and it was an xtreme. so i guess very similiar but not the same.

Hey ChrisOllyn, if you're through Bowie and feel like cruising around hit me up 240-372-6816. I do recall seeing the truck a few times, looks nice.
Adam, I've had no probs with my 3rd brake light (LED munted just above the back window, so it's not in the tailgate).
