Re: Y-Pipe Group Buy, most likely to happen!

Im wondering if its alive still as well..we were getting updates all the time, then had hints of the project dying due to lack of support and then the topic goes dead. I hope its still going..my 03 5spd is waiting for this and my headers are sitting in my room lonely waiting for this y-pipe!

Re: Y-Pipe Group Buy, most likely to happen!

OK guys, this pipe will be test fitted on my truck within' the next couple of a weeks hopefully (and by hopefully, I mean providing the shipping isn't slow and I can get my local shop to put it on quickly).

So here's the deal, if it doesn't fit, I will identify the spots, and he will re-adjust, then it will fit. But there shouldn't be a problem.

This is for the Automatic 96-Up. Once this fitting is verified, then he will work on the 5spd pipe surely, it's only 1 inch lower.

Once I get it installed, I will take pics to identify how much clearance you guy's will have with it.

Is the plan still to make it without the flange for the cat and supply a short pipe to go over the part of the pipe you cut off before the cat on the 98+?

look at post 196-7 there is an option for you as I'm in the same boat. swap the cat for the earlier version and your good to go.

Huh, could you explain this a little clearer? I won't be able to bolt this right up? Not that a custom exhaust shop wouldn't be able to make the changes but still...you know...for the noobs.

Re: Y-Pipe Group Buy, most likely to happen!

He was suggesting that you purchase a 98-99 Cat convertor so you can use that 3 flange setup..thats what im going to do on my 03..a couple pages back i posted pics of the differances. I hope this thing fits good the 1st time so the 5spd one can go into production..my stock y-pipe is pathetic..its like
2"so small!!!!!!

i'm still in but i kind of don't want this to go full swing till after xmas. Money is tight, but i could stand to loose a few pounds by not eating to make up the money for the pipe!!!!

Re: Y-Pipe Group Buy, most likely to happen!

what about us people from California where emissions are strict? can we just cut off the flange and weld it to the precat? or can the swap to the earlier cat version be good enough for us to still pass emissions? what can we do?

I also heard from a local muffler shop that making the pipe bigger would effect the O2 sensor readings. Anybody experienced that?

Re: Y-Pipe Group Buy, most likely to happen!

This is not CARB certified. It will probably pass a emissions test, but will fail a visual inspection. It is not worth the fines. Your O2 sensor readings will be OK.

I just stumbled upon this thread this weekend and honestly did not read every post.

Are these available for a 2000 S10 auto and how do I get one?

Rockrz is an unknown quantity at this point
Re: Y-Pipe Group Buy, most likely to happen!

So, this proto type is 2.5 inch pipe?
And, what is the diameter on the outlet side at the flange?

Any idea on price yet?
