Walker Quiet-Flow Muffler

Has anyone had any experience with the Quiet-Flow muffler, either on your truck or any other vehicle? I'm looking for a quiet muffler, one that doesn't sound like a bumble bee or other insect, cause I just have a 4 cylinder. I've seen the post on the VW MK4 muffler that runs quiet, but I want one that will just bolt up as if it were stock.

Re: Walker Quiet-Flow Muffler

gotta get the jetta muffler! i love it so quiet.

if it wasnt for my timing chain, you'd swear my truck aint even running.

pretty much any perf muffler is going to be louder than stock, so i suggest you do as i do and search for a stock muffler that's nice and quiet.

Re: Walker Quiet-Flow Muffler

btw an exhaust shop should be able to install the muffler for less than 20$ if that's what you are worried about. it was just 2 quick welds, one on the pipe and one on the hanger.

I'd get the jetta muffler if I could get my hands on one! They're pretty expensive if you buy it new right? Salvage yards probably wouldn't be much cheaper, even if it was half the price. It's not the install that I'm worried about, it's the price of the muffler! That jetta muffler's like $290, right?? From what I've READ about the Quiet-Flow, it's supposed to bolt up and sound like stock (the #22500 for mine which i found on rockauto.com for 63.79 excl. shipping), just want to know if anyone can vouch for the sound by way of actually hearing it on a vehicle, better yet a 4 banger S10.

Re: Walker Quiet-Flow Muffler

yeah i guess i got lucky finding mine.

i just asked al my friends who had aftermarket exhausts on their cars if they still had the stock quiet muffler, then i took the option that was quietest.

i got it for a freebie... zip... zero... nada... (remember they used to say that at monster garage)

So, in the spirit of Monster Garage, do you have a freebie?? Or at least one you could let go cheap?

i think you may want to check this ouyt for verification of your choice of muffler.oh by the way look at the highest flow along with the quietest.

Good info. But is that saying that the whole line of Dynomax's Walker's are quiet? The muffler in that test is a "super turbo," right? The item number I've found for mine is listed as "quiet-flow 3" I think. In any case, I think I am going to get a Walker, and it'll be a few weeks at least before I'll be able to have any feedback. But along the same lines, any suggestions on the exhaust system as a whole? I can't find a header for my 1.9, so I'm going to get an exhaust manifold. What is the pipe called that is hooked to the manifold? And where can I look to get it? Next is the catalytic converter....brands, model numbers? I don't really want a tail pipe, but would there really be a difference in performance/sound if I had one? And another question, would it be better to get everything "bolt-on" or could I get it done cheaper if the muffler shop used their own pipe and welded it all together. There is a 'mobile muffler' guy in the area that will do your exhaust for a reasonable price last time I dealt with him

Re: Walker Quiet-Flow Muffler

no the walker/dynomax have louder if you want, but super turbo is a little louder than stock no pop corn farts on decel and hardly any interior noise, like none.if you don't use tailpipe the noise will be heard more in interior.if you can get the mobile guy to install your muffler i'd go that way.look at summitracing.com for magnaflow or walker for cat.i bought s/turbo at jegs it has to be welded don't know bout walkers quiet type.
