Spintech Prostreet vs Hooker Max Flow
Which is the better muffler performance wise? Im not sure which to choose betwwen these 2. The prostreet is a little more expensive but i think it sounds better. im just looking for yalls opinions. Im planing on doing a 2.5 in and out and dumping it btw if that helps. Thanks

You won't notice any performance between either one. Just have to go with what you like the best as far as sound/price and just plain opinion.

Re: Spintech Prostreet vs Hooker Max Flow
Yes^^. Also spray a couple coats of black or silver VHT on your new muffler and it'll really last. I sprayed 2 coats of VHT on all the new piping and new prostreet from the cat back

Re: Spintech Prostreet vs Hooker Max Flow
Well if I can, allow me to show you pics of each and you make the
call.. First, Spintech's innards. ![]() Now looking down the gut of a 3" Hooker Maxflow.. ![]() Got to tell ya, it's pretty hard to argue with a straight through design.. Last edited by bg's : 10-23-2009 at 02:52 AM. |

Re: Spintech Prostreet vs Hooker Max Flow
I don't know how the Spin flows but the Hooker out flows almost all others. Its very well built and the in sides are stainless and the packing is ceramic. I have a max flow. I like the spins sound better from what I've heard. Although it's not a fare comparison because I have one of the only vids of a maxflow on a 4.3 and everything but the cat being removed is stock on my exhaust. So it is going to be raspy as all hell.
The guys with spins that Ive seen have alot more done to there exhaust and one or 2 even have cams. It you don't want loud as all hell at WOT don't get a max flow. It sounds about as loud as no muffler at all. Idle is a tad deeper than stock and cruising in 4th at about 35-45 mph it is damn near silent. Loud everywhere else. I'm S/C and plan on doing alot more to my truck. So I want the best flow I can get. I went with flow over sound. |

Re: Spintech Prostreet vs Hooker Max Flow
Keep in mind that I have the stock sized Y pipe and tail pipe with no cat. So, yes it is raspy. Put the cat on and it'll take away some of that rasp. When I get a bigger Y and tail it sould deepen it too. |

Re: Spintech Prostreet vs Hooker Max Flow
If you are alluding to the tone difference of the Spin being more "performance" sounding, then I may be misunderstanding your reply. I've had both. A custom made Spintech which is out in the shed and a Hooker Maxflow on my truck. I like the Flowtech out of all of the different muffs I've had on it, but I'd rate the Hooker 2nd, the Spintech 3rd, the Flowmasters that are out there a 4th and lastly and I do mean lastly, the Gibson a miserable 5th. However this is just my 0.02. |

Re: Spintech Prostreet vs Hooker Max Flow
I used to run a maxflow. I hated it. It was quiet at idle, popped ALL the time, and was annoyingly loud at highway speeds. But its whatever you prefer.
