That was gonna be my question, too. I noticed that 350s (or most any make/model of small block v8) tend to have that "BraaaAAAAAaaapppp" sound when run those bullet-style muffs and anything around 2"-2 1/4" pipes.

Re: Post Audio/Video Clips Here

Don't know, but I would guess it's the stock size piping, maybe 2 1/4",,, but, if the motor has 9.5 or more compression you would get a clear defined rap with this type of muffler. Straight pipes to the rear would sound similar to this, but louder,,, the bullet just muffles it some.

I was gonna guess 2 or 2 1/4 too. I bet on decel it cackles like a bitch. A bigger pipe would mellow it out quite a bit, and add an x-pipe to the mix and i bet itd sound and run pretty nice.

Just to finish this all up, and put it to rest, I'd love to hear these on a 4.3 V6 to see if they sound similar? check out the first poster here: Post Your Exhaust Sound Clips, Videos, and Pictures - FULLSIZEforums - Chevy Truck

Looks like glass packs or steel packs. Im getting ready to put my set back on cause I blew up the temporary muffler I swapped on. Its so damn loud right now cause I have a crack in one side of the case and The other side of the case is gone. They used really shitty metal when dynomax made the first round of the x-pipe mufflers......Or maybe its just my truck???? lol

Re: Post Audio/Video Clips Here

None of the above. My old friend had it brand new in box. It looks like the straight red one just not painted. Old school muff for new school chevy power! Just wait till the 3" pipe is on that baby!

Ok then, it must be made like a Cherry Bomb, or Dynomax Bullet, a straight thru glasspack with just a perforated core, no louvers inside to change the tone like some straight thru mufflers. By the way do you happen to know the muffler case length?

I just put my 95 S10 W' through the shop to find that the caddy converter was completely stopped up. They somehow put on a higher flowing cat and now (through the 13 - 14 year old muffler) it is loud enough to be heard and turn heads, but not tooooooooo loud. Its got that nice deep rumble as well.

I really wish I knew what they put on (had to take to a Cadillac dealership because there were no chevy's around. If I were you, I'd get a GM performance cat (if such a thing exists) and plop that on THEN go get a Flow 40. I'm waiting 2 weeks till spring break and then ordering up the flowmaster, but I'm not sure if I want too as it is pretty nice sounding by changing out the cat.

Here's a clip of a 3" Flowtech Afterburner I put on. The clunkings are
from the loose mounts. Have to have em welded up. The end is me
stumbling around like a moron. I used a tiny Olympus WS-100 dig
recorder. I think in real time it sounds better, but what do I know.
Muff was 40.00 bucks at Summit at the time. Part num is 50330FLT.
Maybe it does sounds like a fart can, oh well. Crank it up. >

Thanks Mike. That clip you had on yours is what got me to
install one. I still think that clip you made was one of the
cleanest exhaust clips I've heard from a 4.3.

I love the sound of that. Need to get a clip of a drive by. Is that a dual outlet or single outlet?
