Re: 2 Vids of my X

In that vid it's only got the FIPK, Hypertech, high-flow cat and flowmaster 40 series... The other one was just screwing around, took off the brake vacuum line, and had no cats.

Yes, I read that. I mean what size tubing, single in dual out muffler? exhaust run out the back or turndown under the truck?? I just need more info, not just what muffler and cat he used. Also what vac plug he pulled for that vid, sounds sweet

Terrible clip of Spintech.

I used to run a custom Spin. I have a real shi**y clip of it. The wind was blowing
and I was using a mickey mouse tape recorder. It really didn't sound too bad,
but this clip sure doesn't help. From idle to wot. >

Spintech Pro Street 2.5" on 4.3 Blazer

I've been meaning to get a good clip up, unfortunately the camera batteries died halfway through recording but you can get a good idea of the idle and a rev or two...This is on my 97 Blazer with stock manifolds, stock y pipe, stock (133k) cat, spintech pro street with a 2.5" tailpipe. I'll try to get a better video/soundclip up soon, I have a driving video but it's close to 20 megs...

EDIT: For some reason it makes you wait 30 seconds before being able to view, not sure why I have a few other videos on zippyvideo and the links go directly to the vid

Re: Post Audio/Video Clips Here

it's just a unversal fit muffler 4x9 oval, offset center, 14" length...got it in polished stainless

http://www.turbosonoma.com/muffler.jpg

well i tried to make a vid, but it's just too damn windy out right now, so i'll try again tomorrow

It's really quiet inside the cabin, and at idle you can barely tell the truck is running, but when you get on the gas, and are outside the truck is has a nice deep hollow tone, reminds me of a newer mustang w/ aftermarket exhaust.

Of course it's not too loud since i still have a cat, but I like it the way it is for now

Talking Re: Post Audio/Video Clips Here

Well here's my '94 4.3CPI. The first vid was stock y-pipe to cat to air. In the second video the cat is removed =] So it's simply y-pipe to air. I didn't want to rev that high as neighbors next door are elderly. I'll see if I can't get a vid/sound clip of me doing a drive by. I love the way it sounds... Like 4 angry civics.... In a good way!!!! Thinking I may just go buy a turndown pipe from autozone. That way the floor doesn't get so hott..... I ended up melting some ziplocs to the floor because I forgot about them lol

For all the 2.2l drivers-

http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=66633 9194&n=2

Stock 2.2l with a dynomax superturbo muffler with stock piping.
I got it installed last december, quiet at first but i think its broken in now.
Not quite loud enough for my taste. When i get back to the states in july im thinking maybe a turndown. who knows

Re: Post Audio/Video Clips Here

Sitting in my driveway
Didn't rev it alot (almost not at all) since my neighbors were home (even though it's not loud).

Here's it being driven down the road. You can hear the difference of the flipped lid in the upper RPMs.

Like I said, idling the flipped lid makes almost no difference. But, in the upper RPMs you can feel abit more power and it definitely sounds alot better.

Heres a clip of my 98 SS.. 3 inch XR-1 racing, no cat, edelbrock headers and 270 cam.. It has no drone at any speed, sounds nice a strong at idle, and only gets mean when I go WOT..

Enjoy

dynomax superturbo catback system (2.5") from summitracing.com
stock pipe bends and placement (just 2.5" and not 2.25" pipe). stock cat.
installed for about 1.5 years now on a 4.3 with an AEM cone filter intake.
soundclip taken by the mic on an iBook, revs up to 4000rpm.

2.2 w/ just a flowmaster 40 series, stock everything else. oh and it's bouncing off that crappy 3500 rev limiter.

Re: Post Audio/Video Clips Here

Had to replace the Y-pipe this weekend, so I took some sound clips of the open headers after removing the cat while preparing for the new exhaust. Not the greatest sound quality, but you get the point!

Re: Post Audio/Video Clips Here

is it really as deep sounding as my speakers make it seem?...and, do you have a cam in it, or is that how it sounds stock?

Re: Post Audio/Video Clips Here

It was really piss-the-neighbors-off deep just the way it was. All that was on it at the time was an Edelbrock t.e.s setup w/ a 2-3" section of pipe on the flange to connect the new exhaust too. No cam, yet.

Edelbrock t.e.s. (obviously), no cat w/ caspers 02 sim, and a Flow Super 40 single in/dual out. Had it installed yesterday morning, sounds really good. (I.m.o., of course )

One more open header clip..A quick jaunt around the block to make sure that all my 02's were reading, and that none of my plugs were improperly installed. Again, very, disappointingly short.

Re: Post Audio/Video Clips Here

ive had a couple questions bout mine so i made a new clip...just an old 50-series delta flow dual chopped off (as you can see)...it sometimes rattles on the hopshock bolt sometimes so you might hear that in there.
