Re: Post Audio/Video Clips Here

Truck is a 2001 x with the 2.2L. i'm running a thrush turbo muffler on mine right now with 2.25 inlet and outlet in stock location and stock piping. took video with digital camera so it doesnt pick up the low tones all that well, but in person its alittle deeper. couldnt rev up all the way either due to the rev limiter at 4k. i will get more vids later on while driving and such.

i have a video of me off the line and when i hit third gear, that muffler for sum reason made it sound like a v8, or atleast not a v6 . But unfortunatly its on a cam corder camera, so i cant unpload it

Re: Post Audio/Video Clips Here

Magnaflow high flow cat with 3" pipe between cat and a 3" inlet and outlet Hooker Maxflow muffler with a 3" tailpipe exiting in the stock location with no tip.
This was taken like 50 miles after install, It has became a little louder and deeper since this video. I would definetely recomend this setup to someone who wants to hear their exhaust but doesnt want all of the noise of a 40 series flowmaster.

Re: Post Audio/Video Clips Here

If my little brother wouldnt have dropped my digital camera on the asphalt after the driveby part then i would be happy too. The screen is shattered and the zoom deal is stuck in, When you turn it on it lights up, beeps, then shuts itself off.

When i get a new camera(hopefully fairly soon) i will make another set of videos with how it sound now that it is broken in.

I was actually very surprised at how much SS exhaust tips change the tone of the exhaust. Makes it deeper and not as raspy. SURPRISE!

Re: Post Audio/Video Clips Here

My buddy's 03 s10 -->4.3 eliminated the first cat, replaced other cat with highflow cat, got a single inlet/dual outlet flowmaster 40 series, and 2.25 in piping out infront of the rear tire.

Re: Post Audio/Video Clips Here

well i just got a new high flow cat and it completely changed how my exhaust sounds (i kept the stock cat, its still good)

sorry both videos have been done with a digital camera so it cant pick up the deep tones and the microphone isnt the best.

stock cat with flowmaster 40 series, 2.2L engine

Magnaflow high flow cat with flowmaster 40 series, 2.2L

Note: with the new high flow cat it does sound more of a 4 cylinder at 3200+ rpm, but definitely made the muffler sound more "hollow" and of course made it louder, either way its still a 4 cylinder.

tell me what you think, im still debating whether or not of getting a magnaflow muffler but im not in any rush yet.

Re: Post Audio/Video Clips Here

Since you have a 4 cylinder, I would buy a resonator to put in before the muffler, that will make it sound a lot smoother.. Sounds more like a flowmaster now with the high flow cat.. Tinny

Damn, it's amazing that the 2.8 sounds just as good and better than some 4.3's.. haha.. Flowmaster stays in business because of this site. I thought the mustang guys were bad.. haha.

I did have a few, but the wind noise was horrible, and they didn't come out well at all. I gotta make a temporary camera mount or something inside the cab...I'll def have some drive-off/drive-by/drive-around/drive-thru shots in the next couple of days.

Oh, and ..Yes, Eric, i love it. They're everything I liked about the sound of Flows but with the extar, I dunno, "grunt" that the Flows were/are missing.
