mufflers and mufflers?
I just bought a 04 4dr blazer, in the next month or so i plan on putting on a muffler with a tailpipe coming out close to the stock location. I want a muffler that has more rumble than the factory one, but no flowmaster 40 series. One of my friends had a Borla of some sort that almost as quiet as stock, but im thinking a Magnaflow, now they dont really have names, just sizes, so approximately what size should i be looking for? I was thinking a 5x11 by 18 long, or 5x8 by 14 long, or 5x8 by 18 long? idk what the hell these things sound like, anyone know?

Re: mufflers and mufflers?
i think if you got a truck it deserves a flowmaster. or as i like to call a flowsie. when i first bought my truck i bought a used flowsie for 50 bucks and it sounded bitchin. but i needed more and i bought a brand new 3 flowsie and just put a dump on it. sounds awesome real rumbly, and throaty. just need to make a 2.5 to 3 inch adapter for just before the muffler. but i definitely think flowmaster is the best.

Re: mufflers and mufflers?
"Flowsies" have been done so many times on every car imaginable I can see why the OP wants to stay away from one.
My brother had a 14" case magnaflow on his 98 Bravada that sounded REAL nice, it was nice and deep and powerful sounding. I have a magnaflow on my 3.5L right now and I also love it how it sounds, nice and deep. |

Re: mufflers and mufflers?
i was talking to my friend who had the 5x9x18 and he said that it was barely louder than stock, i wonder what the 4x8x18 would sound like? might end up going with a 14

Re: mufflers and mufflers?
Go with the sportsman from spintech. Not too loud but still flows real nice. Personally tho i want a pro street from spin tech.

Re: mufflers and mufflers?
have you ordered the magnaflow yet? i've got a 4dr 03 blazer and i'm going to go with the 4x9 14" case. hopefully it won't be too loud with interior resonance. i had a flow40 on my sonoma and it sounded nice but at times the interior resonance got to me.
