Looking for 2.2 with spintech muffler vid!!!!

Anybody have a clip of a spintech on a 2.2....i've looked everywhere and cannot find them. Can somebody help me out. I've heard itll take that ricey sound of my flowmaster at high rpms away. I hate it. help!

FYI......... 2000 2.2 s10 K&N fipk intake, flowmaster 2.5 inch dual pipes into 3" tips

I think you'd probably get pretty close to the
same sound if you just stuck your ear next to a 2
cycle weed eater on full throttle.

Putting a spintech on a 2.2 would be a gigantic waste of a great muffler. Do yourself a favor and keep it stock. You will be much happier in the long run, trust me.

you obviously didn't read the thread before you opened your mouth on that one. It already isn't stock.....single chamber flowmaster, 2.5 inch pipingto 3" tips but i want to change the muffler to something not so obnoxiously loud. doesn't sound like bad exhaust just really really loud. Its louder than my 40 series with a turndown...i was thinking the spintech might just give it a mellower nicely tuned better than a 40 series series sound

It's a fvcking 4 cylinder dude, give it up.

You're better off buying a new stock muffler for it. That will give you a nice mellow, non-ricey tone. It will be fvcking silent, they way it should be.

I had a 2.2 with a 40 series......sounded like absolute shit. Enjoyed it for about a month and a half then fvcking despised it. You're not going to get any better sound out of it by putting a Spintech on it, it will be a waste of money. Hell, even putting a $1500 Corsa exhaust system on a 2.2 would sound like shit too.

Just so you'll now, A while back Flowmaster sold out. The guy who invented flowmaster came out with another line called Spintech. Basically they are the same with exception for a few tweeks here and there.

I used a $20 one from autozone and it sounded great (alot quieter and less ricier than a flowmaster) till it blew up a few weeks ago. lol

After several searches over the world wide interwebs, I've found not a shred of evidence to support this claim whatsoever. Ron at Spintech seems to feel this information is incorrect, too.

This might be the best thing I've read in a while on the forum.

Anyways, flowmaster to a spintech isn't really going to reduce loudness at all, why someone would put a single chamber on anything street driven let alone a 2.2 truck is beyond me. Go pick up a cherry bomb turbo muffler or something if you can't get ahold of stock because as said before in here swapping to a Spintech is going to be a complete waste of time/money/effort/good muffler connected to a stupid engine/etc...

know HOW many threads and posts relating to the 2.2
aren't really "hating" on the man's ride. We are just
trying to save him a bit of money. An inexpensive
turbo muff with just a bit of baffling will help with
flow and some back pressure.

What is the sense of putting a muff on that is
just going to become annoying in the cab due
to resonance ? Spins are pretty good muffs. I
have one out in the shed, but they just don't
enhance the exhaust note on a 4 cylinder. In
fact one could argue that using them on a 6
cylinder can get a little obnoxious after a while.

I say this acknowledging that there
are exceptions including a few rides here in
the clips sticky. It just depends on how they
are setup. Now on a v-8 or 10, that's when
a Spin truly steps up.

The author can get a good flowing low resonance
muff I.E. a turbo muff, while at the same time saving
some money. >

You think putting an aftermarket muffler is going to make a noticeable increase in power on a 2.2? Please, we are talking about MINIMAL gains here at the expense of an horrendous exhaust note.

im not readin all this, but u wanna know what it will sound like? go find the loudest most annoying rice rocket in ur town with the loudest pipe, TADA, a four cylinder sounds like a four cylinder no matter what exhaust u put on it
