how to get tail pipe off???

I went to take my tail pipe off and i can't get the thing out. I got it disconnected from both mounts and the muffler. I even jacked up the back end and can't get it off. Should i just hack some off with the cutting torch or what i want to put on a new muffler and can't get the muffler off from the other end either should i just cut that too? thanks . for right now it is just wired up there because i bent one of the mounts so i need to get this done soon.

I don't get it, so the tailpipe is disconnected from the muffler and you have either pulled the mounts out of the rubber hangers or unbolted the hangers completely and you can't get the pipe off? You should be able to snake it right out without too much effort.

Mintsick 100% right. If you have it complete cut and off all the hangers how can you not get it out. I could get it out in less than 10 seconds. If you are having problems just cut the damn thing more and pull it out.

Well said. However, you completely forgot to mention that he needs to cut through the frame just behind the cab, also. That way, he can just flip over the bed to get access to all that stuff.

Re: how to get tail pipe off???

too bad i have a blazer. Yeah it was all disconnected but for some reason it doesn't want to come out so i am going to cut off the metal that goes to the mounts and if that doesnt' work the thing is getting cut in half. I believe it was after market , and i tried everything to get it out. Also the muffler that is connected to the other side of the exaust system, the front has been over tightened so that the pipe has a grove in it. So should i just cut that or disconnect it from where the cat goes that i dont' have there. Thanks
