leave the stock muffler on the truck until you put a real motor in it...thats what i did. it doesnt matter what muffler i have on there now, they all are loud and sound good.

A Real motor? You don't consider the 4.3 a real motor? A good design, reliable, small block Chevy V6 pushing close to 200hp, with gobs of torque, averaging 20mpg, and is very modable, it is better then most any other small truck in it's class! Plus, with the Cherry Bomb Pro on there it sounds rich, & natural, not boaty, ricey, or embarassing. Sure you could put a V8 in it, then it'll pass everything on the road, but the gas pump.

Most V8's are getting the same or better milage than our 4.3's... In city driving!

I doubt it! A 305V8, maybe close, but never a 350. Unless you're talking about the late model vehicles that have the new cylinder dropping, and other modern advanced technology gimmicks to conserve gas. I got 20mpg around town on average with my 96' Sonoma, never tried highway milage, but I bet it would do even better, and recently 21mpg around town on my 95' S-10.

Now you are just proving your ignorance.

I don't need this crap, I'm not even going to dignify this with an answer, this is way off topic, Sorry chevyrules, it ends right here for me now on this thread.

Your the one spouting crap...... a 350 that can't get 20mpg???? For someone who professes to know so much, you really have a lot to learn - I don't care how long you say you have been messing with cars.

Sorry to say, but this is not even close to being true. My father had a '77 Lincoln Town Car with a 460ci that averaged 13-15mpg in town. He had an '89 Chevy Caprice with a 350ci that averaged 16-18mpg in town. Heck, back in the day, he had a brand new '69 Chevy Impala company vehicle with the upgraded 350ci that produced 350hp stock! He averaged 12-15mpg on that beast back then in town. Of course, once he hit NYC traffic, that went down to about 7-8mpg.

Yes, my father is a stickler to keeping records of milage on all of the various vehicles he has had over the years. And for most of those vehicles, he still has the milage records. I kind of do the same, but not quite as good as my father.

"and other modern advanced technology gimmicks to conserve gas"...

And I wouldn't call this modern engine technology "gimmicks". There's no gimmick about it, it's REAL and it works!

Anyway, jsut my 2 cents.

If your putting any muffler on a V6 or 4-cylinder I would suggest a resonator and Borla exhaust.
