Exhaust ?

I have an 89 4.3 , the exhaust was cut off when I got the truck . It has nothing but a y pipe on it and maybe a foot of pipe on it . Whats size pipe is it , 2 1/2 or 2 1/4?

Re: Exhaust ?

So make the rest of the pipe the same diameter as the y pipe.

Re: Exhaust ?

Kinda hard to there , ever seen a ypipe ? They have a bend in them and that is where it is cut , and it is not truly round witch makes it kinda hard to mate up with another pipe .
Guess I will just make a new y pipe in a few weeks when I get the time

Re: Exhaust ?

Thanks yall .. Gonna be awhile before I need it now though . Going to pull motor this weekend for a rebuild . I left it sitting for a week with no fenders , innerfenders and some jackass kid screwed with fuel lines and crimped one the metal ones and drooped dirt in radiator , I found out hard way after I took it for a spin tonight and the temp hit 280 a mile down the road .
I hate people who don't teach their freacking kids RESPECT
