I love flowmasters. On V8's anyway, I've got a 40 series on my 94 with a 350. It sounds mean

Certainly NOT dumped, but if you want something different than Flowmaster look into Spintech, they only sound about 275-400% better than just about any muffler out there, actually

it says on the spintech website that the sportsmen street series is a quiet muffler...which one is the most aggresive/loudest one they offer...that would fit on an s10

For a single in/out go with the pro street series, but I assure you the sportsman street is far from quiet.

go for the Pro Shoot Out..

i got mine for $400. 2 borla mufflers, new pipes from the manifolds back, tips, and installation/hardware.

not a bad deal imho, it was $390 for the same deal for flows.

and thanks. i've been around for a while, but i'm generally quiet. just reading up and making plans.

Re: best sounding muffler on a 4.3?

Spintech for best sound and very good flow.

Hooker Maximum Flow for best flow with nearly as good sounding as Spintech.

Flowmaster for pretty decent sound and OK flow.

Borla for good sound and great flow.

Stay away from the RICEY Magnaflow's.

Stay away from the RICEY Dynomax's.

Stay away from the CRAPPY Gibson's.

My brother had an 14" case magnaflow on his bravada and it sounded far from ricey. I may be trying out a Hooker Max Flow on my 3.5 Nissan in the next week or so.

Funny story: I was at a pull-a-part junk yard that I go to regularly when I looked in the bed of a truck and found and Borla muffler with dual intercooled tips and the thing looked brand new and had nothing wrong with it. I paid $2.50 for it and put it on my wifes car, sounded badass
