Best Flowmaster Muffler on True Dual 5.3?

I will be running a 2.25" true dual system with no cats on a 5.3 with a magnaflow X-pipe. What series do yall recommend? super44? super40?

Re: Best Flowmaster Muffler on True Dual 5.3?

so...headers/manifolds to mufflers THEN x-pipe or x-pipe to mufflers, then exit? Will it be dumping on the ground like turn downs or tail pipes all the way back? I like the super40, but my opinion is pretty biased since i've never used a 44

The best flowmaster to run would be a Spintech.

I don't know about proven, but here some info from their website, a flow comparison..

http://www.spintechmufflers.com/spin...yer%20scan.jpg

Obviously this is their website, so take it with a grain of salt, but they all seem like reasonable numbers. Here's a pretty good link I found, some guy on the called "flowspecialist", seems like a smart cat with this stuff.

Flowmasters are one of the most restrictive mufflers.

But, they're often one of the loudest, when tested. And, when you really think about it, isn't that the most important thing?

Re: Best Flowmaster Muffler on True Dual 5.3?

I have 2.5" true duals on my 5.3 with an x-pipe. My flowmaster 40 delta's sound excellent. (If the awsome chambered sound is your thing) you can sit there and say that flows are more restrictive than the other mufflers available, but the miniscule difference in power isn't really a good enough reason to get rid of the nice sound for me. So other than a loss of 3hp....why all the hard feelings toward flows?
