Anyone have drag-proof y-pipe?
I have been looking all over for a shop local (Detroit) that will mandrel bend and tuck the y-pipe as high as possible. The closest I have come is a shop that wanted to cut out a portion of the stock pipe and weld in a piece a little higher.
Does anyone have a y-pipe that tucks above the frame? Any that are commercially available. I have seen the other threads about y-pipes, but they seem more interested in performance than in tucking. Anyone find any? Or am I stuck in finding a custom muffler shop? My y-pipe has more crimps in it than a little girl's 80s hairstyle. Lemme know. MW |

Re: Anyone have drag-proof y-pipe?
put 2x4 under it and and slam the truck down onto the y pipe and it will move it up to where you need it to go

Re: Anyone have drag-proof y-pipe?
You guys are always good for comic relief.
That's what I was afraid to hear. Oh well, I guess I'll just find a shop to chop it and weld in a new raised section of pipe (mine is hammered so much that I think it is really restricting my flow and I'm worried that it may damage the motor). Thx. |

Re: Anyone have drag-proof y-pipe?
im running a fuel cell in the bed of my truck so i was able to get a true dual exhaust done with converters and flowmaster mufflers, and i have tail pipes hiding under my roll pan in the back.. complete front to back was 500 bucks
now if ur in michigan they guy who did it is in leamington ontario about 1.5 hours from you but 500 is worth it.. he might just be able to go behind the trans and over the driveshaft or something |
