97 jimmy with msd 6AL box, accel supertruck tuneup kit from summit, cold air intake, magnaflow 3 inch cat, into a 3 inch borla XR-1 then split into dual 3 inch pipes, then topped off with 3.5 inch stainless tips...

I will blame the sound on the video quality and conditions. It wasnt as good as I expected. Why did you do dual 3" after the muffler?

hey... i wanted to get the edelbrock headers and y pipe combo and was hoping that the exhaust would not get louder but im not shure if it will... i know it will only sound even better but i dont want it louder... its nice and mild when i keep my foot out of it and i wanna keep it that way... its only mean and loud when i romp it... anyone got and answer for me?

not power loss in the low end... still felt stock until like 2500 then i did feel a good increase... i found the motor reved up quicker but thats obvious after going to a huge 3 inch system over 2.25.

Its all in your head. You probably lost power in the upper RPMs from the lack of scavenging the 3in pipe has on such a small engine. As long as you like the sound thats all that matters though.

no really i know your wrong... no disrespect man but i do know a thing or 2 about performance... no i dont have alot of low end torque now but it does pull better in the 2500 up range... and again i meant no disrespect... i looked at your sig and it looks like you run a pretty nice SBC setup! nice.

If you really feel the power, who am I to argue. Sounds like you like your setup and it is working out for you. Not everyone is happy with their setup so congrats on that. Thanks for the compliments on my setup. I too mean no disrespect with my comments.

i just installed the edelbrock system. pulls a little harder and sounds a little bit tinnier with my flowmaster and 2 1/2" all the way. it was already pretty loud, now it just sounds throaiter. if you get the tes, HAVE FUN!

how about when you are just cruising at a certain speed? is it any louder? i know its gonna sound a lil different but i dont want it any louder!

na, its not really louder. just sound like i put a fat ass cam in it. sounds like i have a bigger cam with more lope and alot more tinnier. alot more comfortable at 80 mph on the interstate. its not obscene till i hit about 4k on the tach, which i dont usually do, except for now. last night it rained and snowed so i got a bit stupid. it used to hold a burnout on loose surfaces till about 3k in second. last night it went to third before it caught traction, kinda annoying and cool at the same time. here are some before and after of the headers.

LOL I wouldn't go as far as saying it sounds like you have a "fat ass cam" in it, my brother put the jba's on his truck with a custom y pipe and it barely made any difference in sound.

i say fat ass cam cause at 1300-1600 rpm while cruising it kinda sounds lopier. i was kinda dissappointed that it didnt really change the sound. i was kinda wantin it to sound raspier, but oh well. its a nice system, except for the u-bolt clamp on the y-pipe. other wise, not a bad deal for $300
