Re: 4 banger
Thats what I have, 3" pipe off the converter then into a splitter with 2" pipes out each side at the back. It sounds great up to about 3000Rpm, then it gets all raspy and sounds like hell. I have a manual in mine so I shift at like 2500 most of the time and it sounds cool when you are on and off the gas goin through the gears. I get all my exhaust work done at Midas and I usually get what I call the Silver Bullet muffler put on. It looks the same as a glasspack but its not, it has baffles in it and its about 5" in diameter. I love the sound of these mufflers. Im not sure if Im gonna end up putting one on my truck or go with dual Supertrapps.
I do like the sound of the 40 series Flowmasters but I dont think they are worth the money. Yes the straight pipes are LOUD, not real bad at idle but above 2500 they are real loud. Although I cruise the highway mostly with this truck and the interior noise is fine. You hardly even notice a difference inside the truck. HTH Shane. |
