2.2L Flowmaster 40 series audio clip
Hi, I know that there is a thread for audio/video clips already but I think I saw a few people asking how a flowmaster sounded on a 2.2L so here is mine.
My S-10 only has KNN Cold Air Intake and Flowmaster 40 series muffler I didnt gun it, just hit the gas a few times. Sounds good enough for me, although some may catch a slight import sound. http://www.feelthefunk.com/exhaust56K001.mp3 Hope this helps. |

Re: 2.2L Flowmaster 40 series audio clip
No problem, and I will also note that I drove it for the first time on the freeway today and my top end feels noticeably better.
Which are you going with? |

Haha, its funny when you hear your truck, except its someone else's. I noticed a big pick-up in my topend too when I put on the 40.

Re: 2.2L Flowmaster 40 series audio clip
not bad but like when you get on the gas does it have an import tone or what because it gets higher pitched when its reving and i want to stay away from import sounding

Re: 2.2L Flowmaster 40 series audio clip
I punched it on my way to my hockey game last night and when I was at about 65-70 it sounded low & deep the whole way. My buddy who was in his car next to me told me it didn't sound annoying and not too loud, just enough to know there was something in there.
I don't know if it is just me but I feel as if the sound has gotten a bit deeper since I have been driving on it more? Is this a common thing with flowmasters or am i just hearing things? So I think I just avoided the import sound. |

Re: 2.2L Flowmaster 40 series audio clip
i have a set of pace setter headers on my 2.2 ran straight to a 40 series. it gives it a crisper, more noticable sound. and it also unlocked a couple more horse power.

Re: 2.2L Flowmaster 40 series audio clip
i have the 2.2, i have a leak in the manifold, so im probably going to redo the whole thing. What size pipe should i use? Keep in mind i dont have extensive knowledge about all of this.

Re: 2.2L Flowmaster 40 series audio clip
I just got the 40 series with duals...2 1/4" pipe with 3.5 tips...sounds deeper than this clip and i think is prolly a lil louder with duals....how do you think the 2.2l would sound with header, high flow cat, and the 40 w/ duals??
