i posted this on another thread but no one was responding...anyway, i have a black truck with paint that looks like crap already, mostly water spots and light swirls. i need some good advice on what to use to get my paint to look decent again and keep it that way. i've heard a lot of good about zaino, so i'm going to try it, but...
which zaino products do ya'll use? i.e. clay bar? cure accelerator? polish lok? gloss enhancer? i've never used it but would love to try it and see if it can salvage my paint at all. let me know what i need without spending a month's salary...thanks for any help jc Last edited by xtremespeed : 01-13-2004 at 04:32 PM. |

Re: zaino ?s (blk sux)
dont go through hell using those products at all. There alot more hype due to numerous reasons. follow this step and i guarentee your paint will hurt your eyes cause it will look so shiny.
Clay bar the vehicle with some Meguairs or blue magic clay bar system. Next step DACP, Meguairs Dual Action Cleaner Polish Follow that with Swirl Free polish, and then some wax and stand back and look at the results. You can also use some products from www.clearkote.net I like the vanilla moose, and carnuaba wax is great also. |

Re: zaino ?s (blk sux)
Zaino's the best IMO, the process can get tedious, but it looks the best. Get the ZFX cure accelerator, Z2, Z5, Z6 gloss enhancer, and car wash...I use the Mother's clay bar, Clay Magic is good too...they're more readily available, and cheaper.

Re: zaino ?s (blk sux)
quamen has got the good idea
i deatail cars for a living....so i know the fine swirls are from washing your car, the fine particles of dirt in yer mit a scratching the paint and the water spots are either from waiting too long to dry your car off after you wash it.....or from not waxing enough....clay bar should get rid of the spots.....and maybe some of the swirls either way.....good luck |

Re: zaino ?s (blk sux)
awesome, thanks for all the suggestions, that's exactly what i wanted. i've detailed before too but at a dealership, didn't get all into the waxing/polishes/all that stuff. my last car was black and i went over the whole thing with scratch-x by hand and that worked wonders, but hell will freeze before i do that sh*t again. anyway, thanks again fellas

Re: zaino ?s (blk sux)
waxing your truck is not going to remove the swirls, that is not a purpose of a wax. black is a beatiful color and swirls can easily be elimated if you follow the proper steps to resotre your vehicle and keep it that way. every color is nortorious for swirls, just that the black you see it more. no matter what process you use on a car, if you swirl black paint, it wil swirl white as but. But, then again there are also different types of paints hard and softs which can be more nortorious if someone wants to get technical. Im opening my business in a few weeks, so anyone of you near PA and need a mobile detailer let me know.
