Re: wire loom
I've never liked the color matching looms. I tried red for awhile but just looks cheap. The only way color matching looks good is with a motor only engine bay. As for colors, all you have to do is look at what neon underbody colors there are and that's what you can get for loom colors.

Black loom or sleeving, I'm doing colored silicone hose tho cause I got a crap load of it cheap and it lasts better than the rubber.

Re: wire loom
Using wire loom just doesn't look right. The sleeving looks a lot better. We put blue sleeving on my dad's Prelude when we changed the engine and it looks 100% better but it only looks good if you have a lot of aftermarket parts that are the same color (i.e. CAI, plug wires, powercoated parts, engine paint, etc). I doubt anything but black would look good on a white truck. Most of the time the reason wire looms look bad is because they so brightly colored, so if you can find something that is more subtle like dark colored sleeving and take your time it will look good.
purplepassion where did you get that sleeving? It looks really nice. Last edited by BlueDime : 08-21-2008 at 11:51 AM. |

Re: wire loom
Xoxide.com has some case sleeving kits, might take 2 or 3 to do the whole motor, but they're out there pretty cheap.

Re: wire loom
Black looks the best. When you start adding a bunch of different colors (especially to wires since there is so many) it attracts the eye and looks cluttered and like crap. Black is not so noticable and hides a lot. I'm very picky with wires and hide them all even if it means cutting and splicing to reroute them somewhere else. I will have to post some pictures of my engine compartment later and some of my 66. I have only a couple of wires you can see, the rest are hidden or out of sight. Looks very clean and neat.
