Okay is polish used after you wash your car and before you wax it?

Lets say its already waxed. And a few weeks later pass, could I apply polish?

Re: When to use polish?

wash
dry
clay
polish
seal (optional) (check sealant cure times)
wax

than wax on a monthly basis. Up keep with weekly washes and a detail spray.

I recommend a full detail about 3 times a year for an average car.

I have been to autoparts stores and have been looking at the Ice stuff. I can not seem to find the Ice wax. I can only find Ice Claybar(liquid/solid) and Ice polish. Do I need to apply wax after I use the Ice Polish???
Thanks

they consider their ICE polish to be a wax.

edit:
in other words, in the ICE lineup, they have:
ICE car wash, ICE claybar, ICE polish (liquid or paste), and ICE detail spray

Re: When to use polish?

after wasing, never with a sponge, polish removes all the fine imperfections, light scratches, etc. the wax protects the paint after it has been polished. personally i use mequire's products

Re: When to use polish?

For store bought or ordering online?

For store bought, look into the 3M polishes. It really depends on what your paint looks like, what type of outcome you are looking for, and if you have a buffer or not. Not one of those buffers you get from Wal-Mart, those don't do anything.

For ordering online, a polish I used when I first started was Poorboys. Very easy to use for beginners and has an easy learning curve.

You'll get better results using a buffer.

Re: When to use polish?

What exactly are you guys meaning by polish? I though wax was the polish? Or are you refering to a spray wax/detailer? Sorry, I'm just a little confused...

Re: When to use polish?

Polishing your car's paint fixes the damage caused by the sun, contamination, foreign objects, and washing and drying with poor quality wash mitts and towels.
