Wheel Protector.. duno lol
i remember several years ago.. i keep on thinking i saw it on trucks back when stacey david was doing the show.. anyways, it was some kind of liquid or something you put on your wheels to protect the finish while your doing paint work etc. basically you spray? it on then when your done you just peel it off..
i may be wrong as to where i saw it.. but i am looking to get some so i can put it on my wheels when they get here while im working on the truck.. anyone know of anything like this? i guess if i have to i will tape them up lol.. wasnt sure if this was better in this section or wheels/tires.. i figure here since its cleaning kinda |

I remember seeing the new hosts of TRUCKS! use that stuff when they were getting ready to paint the yellow pro street S10. I can't remember what the stuff was called though.

Re: Wheel Protector.. duno lol
wheel covers x2 or take them off =free, you can set your truck on jackstands so you dont have to keep jacking it up and down

Re: Wheel Protector.. duno lol
something like this....i'm not 100% positive how it works on wheels...but on windows it works great....so im assuming it would work for wheels... spray it on and let sit...when you go to peel it off its kinda like a really thin layer of silicone....it comes right off |

Re: Wheel Protector.. duno lol
im going to do some more searching around.. i might end up buying some of that like90 stuff. Like90 Spray Mask is safe to use on all thoroughly cured painted surfaces and protects hard-to-mask areas like grills, wheels, and tires. |

Re: Wheel Protector.. duno lol
i went ahead and ordered the Like90. i think it was 40$ shipped for one gallon of it. just put it in a spray gun(tip between 1.8 and 2.5), spray it, let it dry and your good to go. washes off with water.

Re: Wheel Protector.. duno lol
so in theory you could spray this stuff over the entire painted surface of your car, then respray it a different color... let it go a few days and later wash the car back to the original color?
hmm.... ideas ![]() Last edited by 98layinframe : 04-29-2009 at 07:19 PM. |
