What's your fave wax/polish

I was wondering what is your favorite wax/polish? I am interested in whats works well on both light and dark paints.
My wife's Maxima is dark green and has a very rough surface, and my 96 S10 has a white with alot of swirls...

Just don't buy the one from Walmart(liquid) this is made by turtle wax and is a cheap knock off the real Zymol is a paste. And you need to buy it according to your paint color.

Go here for all info

if it is very rought it is likely from water spots and oxidation. These two things cant be waxed out, they must be buffed out. Like wise swirl marks must be buffed out, not waxed out. I am an automotive deatailer and we charge about 100-150 a car for a buff that would remove oxidation and water spots. Somtimes its a little more for swirl marks if they are really bad. Good luck man

That is what I was thinking. Is it worth the 40 bucks to buy one of thos polishers at Checkers? Or is this another case of,"you get what you pay for"?

Thanks,

a 40 dollar one will work, but you have to know what you are doing. Swirl marks are caused by buffing so its hard to remove them with buffing, but it can be done.

Hey for all of you that don't have alot of bucks and want a car room shine, use Kit scratch remover on the whole truck and then use the new Black Magic Wet Shine, same effect and about half the money, I have tried alot of waxes and this one really impressed me.

Hey Future what are yall using for buffing? I detail over here or wherever I am living. LOL I was using the 3M line but its kinda hard to get ahold of over here. I stick with american shine for all the other stuff since Im a distributer and love the products but they have no cutting agents.

Hey Jugg, its not always better to use heavy coats of wax. It usually makes it harder to take off and the results are not as good as a couple light coats. Thats just from my experience though. Future whats your opinion?

Zymol, it is all natural. ITs a sky blue color. Its the only one that is sold that I have seen so I dont think its a knock off. If you consistantly use it your vehicle will look like glass & anything will slide off like its glass. It blows anything I can find at your normal store & even alot of special products I have bought. I havent tried Zaino though?

Zaino & Zymbol

go to a detailer or car dealership, find there reconditioning building, where they clean up new and used cars, ask for the wax/paint sealer they use, it starts with an M, its the best stuff in the world, by far, Malco, i believe, its what the pros use, i have used everything else, from zaino to meguirs to black magic to kit to eagle one to turtle wax to mothers, nothing is as good or as easy as this stuff, if you know anyone who runs a paint shop ask them they would have it.

Mothers clay bar/detailing spray and wax(You can get all three of these products in one package). Use the clay bar and the detail spay, that will take off a lot of the stuff that builds up on the paint(Do one area at a time then run you hand across the clean part and then an unclean part, you will be amazed how much build up there is). Then use the Mothers wax. I just did this process on my truck and am very happy with the results.

I start off my getting all the bugs off with glass cleaner,(i don't use bug remover), and washing the whole truck with dawn..Dry it completely. Then I go over the entire truck with the Clay Bar and make sure it is entirely tar and paint-overspray free Then the truck is dried and I buff the whole truck with 3M Scratch Remover Compound. Then go over the entire truck again with Finishing compound. After the compound is buffed, then the truck is re-washed in dawn and dryed completely. Then go over the entire truck again with Meguires Cleaning wax.And the truck is buffed completely It take many hours, but the results are excellent.. There are other steps, but it for scratches, chips, ect.
