why does everyone hate on it? I've used it when I clean my vehicles and I've NEVER seen any damage done by it. just a bit of a greasy feeling left on there after use, and I'll tell ya how to get rid of the majority of that, after you apply the amorall to your dash or whatever let it sit there for a few minutes and then go back over the entire treated surface with a CLEAN CLOTH TOWEL OR RAG, an old shirt will work wonders. but I wuz just wundering why everyone hates on this stuff.

Re: What's the deal with Armor All
I dont like Armor All because its streaky and doesent stay shiney. I bought some stuff at Advance Auto parts. Its called "professional's choice no more crack and peel" You gotta make sure your dash isent hot when you put it on or it will streak. It will stay somewhat greasy for an hour or so, but it will stay shiney for a week. Plus it smells like watermellon bubble gum

Re: What's the deal with Armor All
I think Armorall has changed it's formula and it's now water-based (no more problems). I think people hate on it because back in the day the formula they used apparently caused vinyl and rubber to brown and crack. If you want an alternative to Armorall I'd give 303 protectant a try. It does everything Armorall does and also has a built in UV protectant. The UV really helps protect things from harsh sun rays that can fade/crack interior. In my mind Armorall isn't a "protectant" at all if it doesn't block UV, it just makes things shiny!

Re: What's the deal with Armor All
as it evaporates from your dash, it puts a film on your windshield. a greasy film that pisses me off when i clean it off.

Re: What's the deal with Armor All
just rub a bunch of greese on your dash, same effect, and over the years it will discolor it also. woof.
I use water on parts and car wax on the others. Last edited by Hucko : 01-31-2005 at 01:26 PM. |
