Whats the best product to get window tint glue off?

MS is on a power trip about tint. 35%all around unless its factory, and no windshield strips. Needless to say, i've got to remove 5% tint from 3 of my trucks and 20% from G/F's xterra. What can I get to cut down on elbow grease while removing all of this tint and glue?

soap and water remove the film then soak the window and use a razor knife to clean it

Actually, you can mix white vinegar and water (i think I used a 10 to 1 mix) and a razor blade. Or you can get this stuff called tint-off. They sell it at Wal*Mart for about 5 bucks.

I just use alchohol and it seemed to work the best. Spray the window after you remove the film and let it soak then razor the glue off.

beer is for drinking. rubbing alcohol or even everclear.. stronger the better.. it will eat the adhesive.

Yeah hook it up, lol. Labor is a beotch to scrap that crap off. I got quoted $25.00 A WINDOW to peal it off.

Just use windex and a razor blade. It will make a bit of a mess but its not that hard to do.

pull the window out of the vehicle and smash it on the ground, no more old tint problem and you don't have to worry about getting the old glue off.....

actually i heard that tint-off stuff works pretty good. that's coming from a guy that i work with that installs tint all day every day.

some places will take it off for free if they are the ones that put it on. worth asking if you have the receipt

yup, the tint off spray is pretty good. I used it on a friends car a while back. Not that hard to remove tint...just time consuming. Have fun

I used warm, soapy water and it works wonders on the sticky stuff. Just be sure to cover your door with a trash bag or something of the like. Have loads of fun. Good luck.

what i did is use soap and water like sleeper s10 said but put up a black trash bag bag and let it sit like for half hour in the sun and let it steam up then it should peel off easy. or if you already have the tint off use the same technique.

Aff getting the tint off, to remove the adhesive you can use speedy 500. It's a very good adhesive remover.

windex works just as good as the tint remover spray and at half the cost. Spray it on,let it soak for about 10 sec and scrap it off with a razer... comes off like butter.

The amonia is what cuts the flim, no need for beer or anything

Most places I know only charge like $5 to remove tint. That's about what it'll cost for the products everyone in this thread is mentioning to try.

my buddy just went through this with his integra and the tint shop told him the way to to it is soak the tint with ammonia, then put a plastic bag on the tint and let it dry on there and after 20 minutes or so pull the bag off and it should pull all the tint and glue with it. not sure if the bag thing works though because it was too late to try it but ammonia will do the job.

Ya don't use windex. Some people are retards. Use any aerosol glass cleaner fortified with ammonia, must have ammonia. Grab a razor blade and steel wool (grade 00) the ammonia will eat away at the glue, scrape it off witht eh balde, then use the wool to clean it up

ANd why not? I guess I must be a retard then, cause thats all i have used is windex on about the 40 or so cars i have pulled the tint off of and re did the windows for them. What the hell do you think windex has in it??? AMMONIA!!!!
