Whats the best product for cleaning windows with smoke buildup?

The previous owner of my blazer was a smoker. So all of the windows are covered in a smoke like film that I cannot get off with window cleaner it just smears. Is there a stronger cleaner that you have used that will remove the film?

soak the window wit windex, scrub wit steal wool and clen wit paper towels. reapeat if neccasserry (sp)??

if there not tinted spray it with foaming glass cleaner and then use a razor blade and it will come rigth off

White vinegar is a good cleaner too. Then Invisible Glass after using the vin. It'll smell good and be clean.

I dont know it if makes a difference but the windows have factory tint on them in my blazer. Ill give the steel wool idea a try. Thanks for all the suggestions.

i wouldnt even attempt it with the tint. it could scratch it.

i smoke too and ive been looking for something to help with the windows. ill try anything except steel woll

ArmorAll Auto Glass Cleaner It's awesome, my dad smoked, and when I would clean out his truck, windex smeared it, like yours.... I used this stuff, and it came off.... Use it once, let it dry, and repeat if necessary...... I found it at Wal-Mart for like 4 bucks....

Thanks for all the suggestions and all the products. I dont think im going to use the steel wool on the windows Ill go buy a can of armorall auto glass cleaner like xtremechik suggested. Ill let you know how it works.

Try using a vinegar and water mix and instead of towels, use newspaper. Neither of these will streak your windows and it comes off very easily. I'm a smoker myself and have been using this combo for years.

The factory tint is not a film, its actual tinted glass, treat it like its any other clear automotive glass.

I use the stoners invisible glass and its works great. I only clean my windows maybe every 2 months and it takes the smoke right off.

steel woolk will not damage windows with factory smoked glass. only windows with window film on them
