What really is the best wax, Zaino or Nano??

Just wondering what everybody is using out there for wax because I have seen that Zaino and Nano wax are getting rave reviews and I need something different. I'm using Meguires 3 part system and its good for about 2-3 weeks and then the beading stops and seems like I never waxed it. It takes all day to do all three parts and I think am going to go with either the Nano or Zaino. These seem to be the top two everybody is talking about so I was just wondering the pros and cons of each. What do you guys think?

Re: What really is the best wax, Zaino or Nano??

I used the zaino system for the the first time this weekend. It is a great product!! I used the claybar first and the finish has never been smoother. I will see how long it lasts but it is def easier to apply and remove than meguiars, which i have always used. The Z-6 Ultra Clean Gloss Enhancer Spray is awsome because it is like a quick wax but alot less work. with better results.

The price for the wax was a little high but if it lasts the whole summer and it seems it will it is def worth it . The cost probably works out the same for all the other crap that i used to buy.

Great stuff....

Re: What really is the best wax, Zaino or Nano??

I use the meguires 3 stage plus a clay bar and I like it, it should only take a couple of hours to apply, I personally wax my truck every month anyways but the length of which the wax stays on depends on how often you wash your car, what kind of soap you use, the waether and all sorts of other elements. I have never heard of ziano before i came on the board but when i worked at the detail shop we used auto magic which was good for the crappy galpin fords we did and a company called bahmes (spell check) for the porsches and ferrari's that was the best wax i ever used but I found that the meguires gold class is about $10 and works really really well for non mail order stuff. And if you want to get your truck really clean before you wax try 3m rubbing compound instead of the meguires paint cleaner it works a lot better just remember to use the polish before you wax

The claybar is awesome.I use it everytime i wax and right before i buff. I also use a special wax that I buy from a local bodyshop...Meguires is a great wax to use from the store, but I rather use what the professionals use.

Yeah i went out and bought a buffer from murray's and my friend said i should take it back and buy an 80$ buffer that has variable speeds that'll actually get the scratch's and everything out... and how hard is the claybar to use? i'm trying to get into waxing my blazer because i've never done it before but i would like too... anyways where can you get the nano wax and claybar at?

Haven't tried Nano but I've been using Zaino since 99. My vehicles always look great with it.

Re: What really is the best wax, Zaino or Nano??

if you want zaino go to www.zainobros.com. I just ordered the stuff and am gonna try it out next week when I get it. If you look at the pics on the site the cars look like mirrors. Its pretty amazing and they say one coat lasts up to 6 months so you can't beat that. Haven't tried nano though.

Re: What really is the best wax, Zaino or Nano??

it's great if you have a buffer to apply the wax or polish or whatever you want to apply. The clay bar is ok if you just want to get out surface contaminents. try usin a buffer with a cutting pad on it and using meguiar's compound cleaner (#83 or #84 depending on your needs) and it will get out more deep down scratches. then claybar, polish and try meguiars hihg tech yellow wax (#26). This will make your truck look like never before. will post some pics soon. i gotta detail an 18 wheeler this weekend!

I bought the claybar, Z-5 (for scratches), Z-2 (for main wax), Z-6 spray, Z-7 car wash and that ZFX cure accelerator. I spent about 100 bucks but everybody says that its the best they have used and once you try it you won't ever go back. What I'm gonna do is clay it, put on two coats of Z-5 (i have some nice swirl marks because my truck is indigo blue) and then top if off with one coat of Z-2. Then maybe the following week do another coat or two of Z-2. I think that should make it look pretty good from what I've read...also I have read that some people put a coat or two of pure carnuba on top to seal it and protect it but from what the Zaino site says I wouldn't think you would need that seeing they say it lasts for months and one coat protects the paint for 6 months. Either way I think it'll look pretty sweet after all that....

well from what I've read the Z-2 polish is the final coat and is supposed to protect it for 6 months. I understand that pure carnuba is normally the last thing you put on the truck but they say this has built in UV protection and everything. I guess its not really wax but a diff kind of protectant. I don't know if I'm relaying the correct message but thats what the site says and thats what the people who use zaino say they do. I have only read about one guy who puts a top coat of carnuba over the zaino but I don't think its necessary from what the zaino people say...

Re: What really is the best wax, Zaino or Nano??

Zaino products are a synthetic coating. They do the same thing as wax (protect, shine). I like to put a couple coats of pure caranuba over the Z2. It's not needed but I think it adds to the wet look. Then again I'm a nut when it comes to waxing my cars.

well I guess the Z-2 is the main polish and I got the Z-5 because its supposed to help with swirl marks and small scratches. What I plan on doing is using Z-5 first (maybe two coats) and from then on use the Z-2 as my main wax. If your truck is in good shape already I think just using z-2 should be all you need (look into the ZFX thingy too because thats supposed to make it cure faster). I went all out and bought everything this time to see what I'll like and need later on. I figured I want to do it right at first (clay bar and z-5) then after the finish looks better I'll keep using the Z-2. Like steve said he uses carnuba on top of zaino and i guess thats an option too but like he said he "IS" nutts. lol. JK steve....but I think the main polish is the z-2 and you don't really need much more then that. I have read over their site 50 times to make sure I know what I need and what Im doing before I ordered so make sure you read everything on there. Its very informative and helps you understand what you'll need.

Did you try the Zaino yet. How did you like it. Was it worth the money spent?

Re: What really is the best wax, Zaino or Nano??

Zaino is much much better than Nano Wax.
I test detailing products and Zaino is the longest lasting protectant on the market.
Sal calls Z2, Z3 and Z5 a polish, however, it has no cleaning or polishing ability, it does however have incredable protection.
Give Sal a call at 732-833-8800 and ask for the Z PRO..., tell Sal Waynestowels recommended it (it is the newest version, longer lasting, looks better, easier to apply and remove- it is a Great Product!!

Re: What really is the best wax, Zaino or Nano??

Yeah alot of people are confused by the term polish with Zaino, even the Z5 just hides swirls, doesn't remove them. But Zaino is more of a sealant and a good one, the best i've used. If you're paint is swirled I would use a good polish first like Meguiars #80, 1Z Paint polish, Poorboy SSR, there are a number of good products out there, then use the Zaino Z5 and Z2 and the paint will look amazing.
