Re: what do you use to wash your truck

When I wash it normally I roll up to the local do it yourself wash and clean it that way.

When I do a full detail I use:
-Blue coral car soap
-soft bristle brush
-Water blade to dry (most of it)
-shop vac to suck the water out of cracks and stuff
-Claybar
-Black magic wax
-Nu finish polish
-Chrome polish for the grill

Takes about 4-5 hours to do all that. But it looks damn good after wards.

After the 1st s10 forum meet. Thats my truck after a 4 hour detail.

-another sponge just for chrome wheels and such
-two towels and an absorber(thats the best shit ever)
-usually turtle wax or w.e. wax i happen to have(love using mothers)
-windex(for windows lol)

dish soap takes all the wax and grease off. it's good to use right before a full detail. i would use dishsoap, then claybar, then wax.

but for a normal wash, just regular car wash soap

Yeah works pretty well for me. I don't use the water ionizer or whatever it is, just plain old towels.

Re: what do you use to wash your truck

I get insane deals on the chemicals we use at work. So for a full detail:
Ardex Hyperwash
Ardex blue rush all purpose
Ardex Tire Shine...cant remember name off the top of my head
Ardex Spot Shine for clay lube
3m perfect it clay
Ardex Solvent...although it never touches my truck because it smears so damn bad unless using a brand new micro fiber
Ardex Pearl Compound
Ardex Viper Wax
Ardex Window Spray
Ardex Detail Spray
Ardex A-Foam carpet & upholstry

and probably a few others im forgetting. I detail cars for a living, or what money i need being im 18 years old and a senior in highschool

That's what I did when I worked as a detailer..

People say it's bad because it takes off the wax, which is what you want before a detail.

Never used a claybar.. Buffer with 3M compound though.
