Re: Waxing?

yea heres my suggestion.
FIRST: use the most abrasive yet non abrasive cleaner you got that is made for your truck not dish soap and get the paint AS CLEAN AS POSSIBLE.
SECOND: Use something like Meguiars paint clay or something of that effect to remove dead paint, acid rain spots, tree sap, and tar. and believe me you may think your truck is smooth when it is stripped of its wax but this really makes the paint feel like it has been freshly waxed, WHEN IT HASNT. so do that.
THIRD: Use a good polish, that gives you the deep luster and shine, not wax
FOURTH: Wax it. and heres a tip that applies to every step all the time!!! DONT use pressure, you should be able to feel your hand when you are done. let the rag and the wax do the work. theres no need to rub the paint off, and oh yea thats what causes swirls and deep scratches.
so there ya go!

Re: Waxing?

Just my 2 cents but I dont belive in waxing. Your paint has solvents in it and they are always making there way to the top to evaporate. So when you put wax on it creates a barrier and those solvents cant not evaporate. So when you look at a car and see what looks like blisters that have popped. They are caused by this process. If you think that your car is lacking in the shine department. I would take a buffer and compound to it. Thats just my opinon.

Re: Waxing?

well thats sort of true, but it does stop after about 3 months or so in some good warm weather. I have worked at a dealership and the cars that come in that are NEVER waxed are basically ruined, if I had a blindfold on I would swear it was sandpaper. Waxing in the long run will help.
