Question Wax on wax off

I’m going to be waxing my truck today I was just wondering everybody’s take on electric buffers or is it just better to do it by hand? What the best wax out there? Any bad experiences with electric buffers like messing up the paint?

Re: Wax on wax off

for just waxing i would do it by hand. but if your gonna use a glaze or a polish then use a buffer. also Maguires makes an orbital polisher that works great with wax and theres no danger in burning your paint

Re: Wax on wax off

For waxing I would just do it by hand and use a good quality MF towel to wipe off.

If you're doing some polishing for swirls, oxidation, etc then get a dual action random orbit polisher. You can still mess up your paint but you have to be a complete moron or trying to do it, it's safe.

Re: Wax on wax off

Yep, take it off by hand. And when applying wax, its best to go with the "wind" it will create the most reflectivness.

So on the hood/roof/trunk etc. go straight up and down the panels
and on the doors/bedsides etc. go in an up and down fashion.

For Polishing, either a Portercable Dual Action Polisher or a Rotary (have to be VERY careful with a rotary)

You must be a Zaino fan. It doesnt add any more reflectiveness than the traditional circular method. But to the topic, by all means apply your lsp (last step product) by hand and remember its all better with thin coats instead of thick ones.
