WATER SPOTS > ME badly....

what can i used to take out water spots..... my truck gets nailed by my sprinklers every night.. its really starting to make me angry..

the sprinklers are always going to be there, so i need something to help get rid of the damn water spots when they happen.. i just waxed my truck so the spots are at a minimum right now, but they are still there... it looks like complete ass in the sun light... what can i do guys to remove these?

i know i could clay bar it.. but thats not an option every week ya know?

i can keep as much wax on it as possible but there are still water spots on it.

Re: WATER SPOTS > ME badly....

might be somewhat off topic but, i work with irrigation supplies and i know, that if you have a lot of iron in your irrigation system then that can mess up a paintjob.. ive seen it happen on cars, boats, houses.. its nasty :{

Re: WATER SPOTS > ME badly....

Heh, around here the water is so hard it can break a rock in half! Seriously, no matter how much wax I use I have the same problem as above. The only rational solution i can see if pre-filtering the water.

Re: WATER SPOTS > ME badly....

What kinda sprinklers are they? If they're the small pop-ups you can adjust the center screw to reduce the amount of water they shoot out, that will help prevent them

Try using a paint cleaner, a good OTS one would be the Meguiars Deep Crystal Paint Cleanser, as long as your water isn't too hard that should remove them.

set your alarm clock to wake you when the spinklers shut off,then take your lazy ass out and chamois off your truck.

Redo the sprinklers, get the ones that only shoot out 90* or something.

I used to pull out all the sprinklers on this street I used to regularly park on, they just unscrew. After constantly trying to nicely ask the management to turn down the settings on them, we had to resort to that. I'd just unscrew them, I seen that others would break them off. Their sprinklers would actually shoot half way across the street. I mean a little sprinkle onto the curb would be alright, but these things actually showered the street, and with really nasty hard water. Water shot high enough to get onto the roofs of vans and SUVs. For a few months, people would remove the sprinklers and a day or two later, the apartment owner would put them back in.

usually irrigation systems run after dew falls... during the day, it sun will evaporate most of it. :P so you will have to let it run for 3-4 hours during the day.. or 30 mins at night... which one would you take ?
