Water in tail light

Howdy all,
My driver-side tail light has collected moisture in it. So I took the tail light housing off and let it dry in the sun, the problem is it left water spots inside of the lens.

Does anyone know how to clean or remove the water spots?

Thanks for any help

Re: Water in tail light

only way is to remove the lens by heating it in the oven at REAL low temp then pry the lens loose, and clean it, then glue it back on!

Yeah, if the seal is deficient.. you should do the method noted above or get a replacement.

I usually wash out my headlamp buckets and tail lights with a spray bottle of household 'no streak' window cleaner, I try to avoid using water at all costs. I've had pretty good luck doing it like that.

I'm pretty sure drilling holes in the bottom is gonna let moisture in there again... completely defeating the purpose of resealing them.

Re: Water in tail light

I'll give those suggestions a shot this weekend. I'm not so sure about the drilling a hole in them part, as I'm pretty sure the current (but unused) screw hole that was in the tail lights is where the moisture was getting in at.

Are there directions here somewhere on how to remove the lens from the tail lights using the oven? I searched but couldn't find anything.

Thanks for the help

if you drill in the correct place so it drains, water should leave faster than it gets in

There's no stopping humidity if its unsealed.
