vinyl tonneau cover
What should I use to clean my vinyl tonneau cover? I've been using armoral which cleans it real good but within a day or two all kinds of dust and dirt get stuck to it. Anyone know of something that will keep it clean longer?

Re: vinyl tonneau cover
Watch what you put on there. A lot of manufacters recommend not to use armor all on there. My dads, my sisters, and mine as well, all from 3 different companies, said not to use it for whatever reason.

Re: vinyl tonneau cover
armorall is the aspirin of the car cleaning world... its good for some stuff, in moderation... but people slather that crap on everything and expect good things... they end up just trashing stuff, or losing control of their vehicle. hah

Re: vinyl tonneau cover
I've used that stuff (Tonno Tonic) for the last 5 years on mine. It still looks new. Granted, I don't put it on every time I wash it. Just once in a while.

Re: vinyl tonneau cover
i went and bought that new meguires stuff. the kind with the ricer on the bottle. It worked pretty good. used it on my tonneau, steps, door panels and dash. oh and my wheels and tires (stockers). I have to say that everything is really shiny now. I can post some pics if anyone is interested.

Re: vinyl tonneau cover
I have used the Tonno Tonic before by Extang it works really good but the dust still sticks to it no matter what. Anything that you put that is oilbased like all those things dust will stick to it. But the Tonno Tonic is pretty good.

Re: vinyl tonneau cover
nothing beats the pressure washer at the car wash. just dont put to much pressure on the cover... hold the sprayer about 12 inches above it and put it on full blast...
it will get in the groves very well and get the dirt off very good. i am not sure what to protect it afterwards... |

Re: vinyl tonneau cover
warm soap and water....warm soap so ur hand doesnt get to cold doing it!!!!
then use a vinyl protectant, just for the "shiney" look. I use a vinyl/ rubber protectant from mothers. Red bottle! works good. lasts about a week, and I ALWAYS clean the stuff off real good b4 adding another coat. |
