Re: underhood cleaning
Hello,
My name is Rich and I own a car detailing business as well as an 00 xtreme. Do not worry about water on the engine at all, and these steps will prevent anything from happening. 1. Let engine run for about 5 mintues. 2. Spray down spark plug wires with wd40. 3. (If your worried or have aftermakret peices such as alarms etc, take some good old tin foil and cover those peices up. If going this way,do it before u warm the engine so u dont get burnt! 4. Spray engine down to get the major stuff off. 5. Spray degreaser and let set for a couple minutes. 6. Scrub with a brush and then rinse. 7. Dress and ur done. IMPORTANT!!!!! IF U ARE USING A DRESSING THAT IS A SILICONE BASE, MAKE SURE TO NOT SQUIRK IT ON UR OXYGEN SENSOR! IT CAN PLAY HAVOC WITH UR VEHCILE. I NEVER HAD A PROBLEM USING AMORAL ON MY ENGINE, BUT I NOW USE A NON SILICIONE DRESSING BY THE GALLON FOR MY ENGINE AND CUSTOMERS VEHICLES. |

Re: underhood cleaning
oh yeah sorry about that, do that so no water enters there. other than that the older vehicles are actually alot easier to clean.

Re: underhood cleaning
yeah but not as effective. Trust me there is nothing ot worry about. I have done so many engines and I never ever had a problem. My buddy works at a car dealership doing detailing and they dont even cover anything up and they never had a problem. I do my engine on my extreme every couple weeks and never had a problem.
