Tire cleaning

What do you all recommend to clean tires? I use BlecheWhite on my old truck because those rims are torn to sh*t, but with how acidic that stuff is I don't dare get it near my ZQ8's. Car wash and a tire brush just doesn't seem to be cutting it, and there's always still a brown haze on them every time I go to put shine on them.

On my rims I use WHEEL MIST® MULTI PURPOSE WHEEL CLEANER (the yellow one) It is somwhat harsh you can smell the chemical reaction when it hits the billet. As long as the rims are cool and you dont leave it on for an hour it works great. After I use that I use MAG & ALUMINUM POLISH or something similar. Before a show i do both of those an use the buffer. After both of those I use some special stuff my detila buddy made up. Billet is a pain to keep clean!!! lol

For the tires I use Octagon Soap It keeps them black even after the tire shine wears off. You just rub it on the tires with a brush and let it set.

For the shine I use Eagle One or http://www.meguiars.com/product_showroom/showproducts_template.cfm?SrcLine=CW Tire Shine . The meguiars has an adjustable nozzle.

I'm not loyal to any brand when it comes to tires but lately I've been using the Armour All tire spray and gives it a nice shine.

Side note: The Eagle One Wadding Polish is great like vortec said for wheels, as well as tail pipes

I just bought some of Mother's Billet polish....wow....my steering whell has not been so clean and soft and smooth to the touch in weeks. I have done the rims fully but no doubt it will turn out well.

I use Simple Green to clean the tires and then I use Meguair's Gold Class Endurance High Gloss Tire Gel! It only comes in gel form and it is purple gel. Smells like a grape soda. Use a foam applicator to put the stuff on. It lasts for weeks and even after it rains you can still see it! Great stuff. About $10 a bottle at Pep Boy's! I use Mother's billet Polish on everything metal. It is kind of expensive but is great!

I agree this is also good stuff, just make sure you don't get any on the tread and wipe it down real good or you will get awful spinoff... especially disappointing after you spend 5 hours making that baby shine

exactly, wipe it on, let it sit, wipe it off. you can reapply more if you want. just watch around the edges. it will make you tread slick as well. i did a donut the other day pulling on to the interstate because i spilled some and then it rained. kinda scary.

Best tire stuff to use is the Mequires long last. Dont get the spray stuff, it flips everywhere. This is a thicker purple stuff. make sure you put it on with the sponges that are shaped like your tires. I have people ask me what I use all the time. Great shine, & it really doesnt flip that crap all over. Smells like grapes too. I like to lick the sponge when I'm done!

I use that on mine too and it doesn't hurt anything, just make sure you rinse it all off.
