Re: Tips for taking care of chrome wheels?

Meguiers makes a good chrome polish.

At work I usually end up using a light wax on all of the chrome surfaces. (Harley Davidson's). It works really good, buffs out to a great shine

I like Turtle Wax's F21 all purpose wheel cleaner. Spray a lil on, hose off, hit with a nice clean cloth and viola.

Re: Tips for taking care of chrome wheels?

should you wax billet rims, too? i always thought wax would leave a bit of a haze on billet or chrome, so i've never done it

i used to put a few coats of wax on my polished aluminum rims..i polished them with billet polish, then polished them with flour, then i used to either seal them with poorboys wheel sealant or wax them

Re: Tips for taking care of chrome wheels?

One thing with chrome wheels is that they can chip if hit with a stone or any debris, solution is to keep a bottle of goo quality clear fingernail polish and dab it onto any scuffs or nicks, chips, this will seal the damaged area from the elements and keep the wheels from flaking or peeling in time !

Re: Tips for taking care of chrome wheels?

just had a door to door salesman come to the house on saturday and my wife and i were suckers and bought this xtreme stuff, its an all around the house type cleaner but works awesome on my wheels, no streaks whatsoever and after i clean them i can rub my fingers all over the wheel and theres no finger prints. heres the link to it, but again i was a sucker to a salesman, but works great for what im using it for.

other than that ive been using invisible glass, works great too, and the mothers chrome polish

Eagle one chrome and wire cleaner...spray on..30 seconds..hose off...good shit..i wash my truck every week, so they really don't get dirty, but it knocks pretty much everything off of em. This is on Alaskan roads, too.

Thinkin about polishin em with some mothers chrome polish...donno yet.

Re: Tips for taking care of chrome wheels?

any foaming window cleaner will shine them up nice, then every time you wax give your rims a wax. you shouldnt need chrome polish unless you let them get dirty.
