The Answer For .........
Recently, a person that will remain anonymous decided to take my truck through a local car wash. They did this with the best intentions. The only problem is my Polished wheels were on my truck. They were chemically burned and stained by a product the car wash was using. My wheels were ruined. Here is a pic.
These stains and runs were all over my wheels. I polished the hell out of them with my powerball. Still they would not come off. So finally I found this, American Racing Metal Polish. This stuff worked like a miracle. Saved me almost $400 to have them broken down to bare metal and repolished. What it is, is a strand of very very fine steel wool with polish soaked into it. Like this.... With this and a lot of elbow grease you can knock it all off and have a wheel that looks brand new. I hope this will help and save people a lot of money. I bought is from Discount Tire for $10. It is a very wise investment. |

Re: The Answer For .........
I never did understand car washes. In my neck of the woods, they charge $12 + 2 for being a truck + tip, so figure $15, takes 45+ minutes (not counting the drive there and back and do a mediocre job done by incompetent laborers, mostly illegals. I can wash my S10 in about 20 minutes, or about the time to drive back and forth to the car wash, heck in the hour I would waste at the car wash, I can wash and wax the truck. It's not that I can't afford the money, it's the time I can't afford, specially since I have 4 cars to wash, that would take me all morning at the car wash.

I never would take my truck through the car wash. Take 30 Mins and do it yourself and take pride in your ride. You will do a better job on it anyways plus you get to keep your 15bucks
