tar removal
i have harden tar on my truck and i cant seem to get it off, i dont want to ruin the paint or anything by using gas or some hardcore remover, any tips or ideas or should i just get the shit off and repaint the faded portions?

forgot to say it is safe u use on painted surfaces i think so u should be ok

yeah bug and tar remover is what i use it usally comes in a blue spray can type thing its pretty good just takes some scrubing and yeah its safe for the paint i always wash it down though after i use it just to make sure all of its off

yea ive used it, but not in a blue spray form, it was a liquid white stuff and it worked a little, but not on the big clumps ive got in certain spots. thanx for the replies

try some laquer thinner, its safe for the paint, pour it on a rag and scrub. do it right before u wash the truck

u can also try a clay bar. make sure u keep the surface real wet or u could leave clay marks that u may have to buff or wax to get off

use almost any degreaser. as long as your paint is clear coated it shouldn't hurt it. try is in a hard to see spot first though ( like the inner lip of your fender well, well known place for road tar)
