tar removal

a construction site and a retard paving company left that goopy tar stuff down on my road over the weekend and this road is the only one i can get to my house from so i went 5 miles and hour and there is tar all over the wheelwells. we are sueing but its not going anywhere fast so how do u think i can remove this tar with? whats a good product that wont damage my paint?

I use WD-40...sounds nuts but it works great...

3M Wax and grease remover works really well. If it's just in the wheel wells I wouldn't worry about it. My truck is undercoated to any extra tar isn't even seen.

WD-40 works. Also you can throw some gasoline on a clean rag and it will come off. Just make sure you clean off the surface with soap and water after you are done so the gas doesnt damage your paint. And if using the gas try not to do it while there is sunlight on it because it will just speed the process up.

WD40 / Silicon spray - excellent for this. Don't use a rag you wouldn't wash your car with (who needs scratches?) If its in your inner wheel well, use a raggidy rag. Take your wheel off if you want to get in there real good. Wheel wells are generally hard to mantain, you'll find underneath your truck, most of your undercarriage is now covered in tar. Its a cruel cruel world, i know.
