Tar/Goo on Tailgate!

Tar/Goo on Tailgate! It's kinda like tar, but I don't think it is?
It's black & sticky & gets worse in the heat.
How do I remove it?
Gas, engine cleaner, mmo, goo remover works only a little.

I believe that what you are describing is the goo from the inner tailgate hinge... it oozes out over time...

That seems to be where it's coming from... It's on the latch & cable as well.
I got it on my pants, my fishing shirt & my kayak!!!

If you can get a hold of some stuff called "GON" it works pretty good, kinda like prep sol.

I found out what works like magic for around a $1.00:
70% Isopropyl Alcohol !!!

*Remember to use a wet paper towel afterwards!
