Streak-free windows=impossible

I can never get my windows streak free. How does everyone do it? I ahve tried Windex with a soft papertowel, t-shirt, and newspaper and I still ahd streaks with all of them. i have tried glass wax which does a decent job on the outside but not inside. I have also tried glass foam which din't do the trick either.

I want atleast 1 of you guys to try the damp microfiber towel.. Not wet, but like just run it under faucet really quick, sqeaze as much water out as possiible.. Ant it will just had ever so little water in it, and you just go over your window.. And it gets it.. Have a dry microfiber towel to get at any thing thats left behind.. :You could probably skip the damp part, but I find it being a little damp gets all the dust `n dirt off a little better..

My dad and I use Windex® Multi-Surface Cleaner With Vinegar, and it doesn't leave streak's, I just spray on and wipe with a shower towel, and The vinegar is fine to use on tinted window, instead of the ammonia based windex.

There is some window cleaner that a friend gave me from his work. It is an industrial cleaner, but it cleans with no streaks better than anything I have used. Just sucks I can not use it on my tint.

Re: Streak-free windows=impossible

Two words."1Z ,Sonus" The 1Z Glass cleaner along with a Sonus Detailing Micro Fiber towel will give streak free glass. I "used to use" newspaer and Eagle one 20/20 or Stoners Invisable glass. I would still have a few streaks. I could not get streak free glass. BUT once I used the 1Z Glass cleaner and the Sonus MF I now have streak free glass!

Make sure to clean glass in the shade.

Re: Streak-free windows=impossible

a microfiber towel with a tight weave is the best to use for wiping the glass.

three liquids i'd use for cleaning the windows. water, with a MF cloth. or stoner's invisible glass, and lastly some product from ZEP. i think you have to have an account with them though, because i've yet to see it anywhere except from our (my father's) zep dealer.

for an added bonus on the stoner invisible glass product, it has a weak rain x effect to it. it doesn't last anywhere near as long as really rainx-ing your windows, but it does work, and if you clean your windows frequently, water will bead up quite well. the only shitty part, if your wipers are old(or dirty), your windows will streak a little bit on the outside.

last but not least, with the microfiber towels, they do get dirty and after alot of use, they will start leaving their own streaks on the window. feel free to wash them with care, using the same instructions on detailing sites for washing the towels you're supposed to dry your truck off with (i.e. dont use fabric softener and certain detergents, etc....if you're not sure, ask, ill find it for you). and, i can't say this enough, tight weave on the microfiber, if its furry, it won't work right.

When I wash my microfiber towels, what I do is just put them in the wash with just water, nothing else.. It gets them cleaned up pretty good...

Re: Streak-free windows=impossible

Best way to clean windows on the inside(especially if you smoke & get film on them) is to go to a gas station that keeps their window cleaner full & clean. Do them like you would your exterior. Rub on with the one side, then sqeegie them off. If you havent done them like this, you may have to do it twice. Then just take a dry paper towel & wipe them good to make sure everything is off. It wont smear this way & cleans them awsome.

Re: Streak-free windows=impossible

key clean them in the shade. u might have to go over once or twice so the window will be clean when ur done. if all u do is smear the film that builds up on the windows around then ur gonna have streaks. *also* if u have armorall or any other products like that on the surrounding areas make sure ur rag or paper towel or newspaper is not brushing those areas.

I use the blue MF towels and GM Glass cleaner. The GM glass cleaner is similar to invisible glass but less runny IMO. I love the stuff!

he brings up a very good point, although i wouldn't reccomend getting squeegied at a gas station, you can pick up a squeege at walmart or somewhere for scrubbing. scrubbing is good for scummy/filmy windows. whether you smoke, or armor all the hell out of your dash, you're bound to get this film on the window.

when you're wiping this film off with your paper towels, or microfiber, etc., its quite possibly going to streak as you clean. this is especialy true with microfibers cause you dont just throw them away everytime. so if your windows are very filmy, make sure you do more than just spray on and wipe off. add a scrub, wipe off, and another spray and wipe off to the formula, and your windows will be golden.

Re: Streak-free windows=impossible

you had to have been doing it in the sun, or when your windows were hot, because i tryed it a hole bunch of different ways while mine was in the garage, and i didn't have any streaks. plus my windows are black, so you really can see streaks. i did the windex and newpaper worked perfect. i did the invisible glass and paper towel and it was perfect. i did regular water and a microfiber towel and it worked perfect..do it in the shade with the windows cool. good luck man

Tinted windows don't streak, you can never see streaks on my tinted windows its just my front window. I re-did it at night when it cooled down and still had streaks.

man..I got these ugly ass spots on my window now, like hard water spots. I used Clindo instead of Invisible Glass cuz I didn't have any. The Clindo normally works well...You can't see the spots unless you're anal and really close like I am...I want them GONE though!!!!
